Sound notification when someone joins my meeting - frustrating problem with settings

Hi, I'd be very grateful if someone could help me with a stubborn problem:

I would like to have a sound notification when someone joins my meetings (I do get a pop-up at the top of my screen when they enter the waiting room, but with no sound).

When I go into Settings / Meeting / Sound notification when someone joins or leaves, this option is already enabled, but I still don't hear the sound for any of my meetings, and when I'm working in other windows while waiting for my client to arrive, I can't see the visual notification. I used to be able to get a sound notification but some months ago that stopped happening for some reason completely beyond me.

Everywhere I look I just see the same advice, ie to check the setting I described above, but that is not where the problem lies. I've tried to "Reset" it, but it made no diffference.

Any advice would be gladly received!

I just went to "Play a Sound when someone enters" to turn it on and that option has disappeared from the "Participants" tab! I cannot see how to make that happen. I NEED that option!!!!

This is probably too late but you can check the Advanced settings in the Audio Settings and turn off the "Windows system audio enhancement". Zoom themselves put out a disclaimer that turning it off may solve some audio issues. I had the same problem as you did but turning this setting off returns the chime sound. Hope this helps!

Welcome to Zoom Community!

There is a feature that you can disable sound notifications when someone joins or leaves the meeting.
