We have a client who has a Zoom Workplace PRO account, but until now they used the accounts from a desktop.
We recommend purchasing a POLY X72 and a POLY X30 to use in two different physical rooms.
Our question is, what does he need to buy to get this working properly?
1) have one more user, each with an associated POLY device
user1 - POLY x72
user2 - POLY X30
2) Create a new Zoom WorkPlace PRO account with just 1 user:
where the initial account is POLY X72
and in this new account POLY X30
What other suggestions do you have?

Are the Poly Appliances meant to be used as shared resources for multiple users? If so, you'll want to deploy these as Zoom Rooms (technically 'Zoom Rooms for Shared Spaces', but these are commonly just referred to as 'Zoom Rooms').
If the devices will be assigned to a specific user, they can either be used as standalone peripherals (you would configure these on the Poly back-end as 'BYOD' devices - they'll essentially turn into glorified webcams/speakerphones that you can connect to any computer) or as "Personal Zoom Rooms".
If you plan to deploy these as Zoom Rooms (of any kind), you'll either need a Zoom Rooms Controller or you'll need to connect these devices to a touch-capable display so that they can use the touchscreen as a controller (ZRT - 'Zoom Rooms for Touch').
I would suggest getting in touch with sales to find which solution works best for you.
The X72 is a large device designed for medium-large spaces - in most cases, you'd deploy this as a Zoom Room for Shared Spaces.
Each Zoom Room for Shared Spaces requires a Zoom Rooms license.
