Configuring Auto Record Directly to Client's Zoom Acct

Does anyone know if there is a way to configure my Zoom account so my clients can automatically choose to record THEIR Zoom sessions with me to THEIR Zoom account cloud or on their computer hard drive---not mine acct? I no longer wish to record my sessions on my Zoom account and be responsible for sending their recording link---ever---and want clients to have immediate permission to click record and have the recording land in their zoom account or hard drive by default. Thank you!

Welcome to the Zoom Community, @52starcodes.

The answer for Cloud recordings is No. Cloud Recordings only/always go to the meeting/webinar owner, regardless of who is actively the Host or who starts the recording.

If you want all attendees to have permission to record to their Computer (previously referred to as Locally), make sure these settings are enabled for your account:

See this Zoom Support article for information on how to enable a participant to start a local recording:

https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0063640

In the Host Tools menu, enable the Allow all participants to > Record to the computer (see green arrow) – I don’t think its possible to enable this in advance any more:

Mine is disabled/unchecked; you’ll want to click it to check/enable it.

Thank you, Ray. That was very helpful. Is there a way to configure my Zoom account to auto-send recorded messages once they are finished processing to clients if I enter their email addresses in the original invitation? That would save me oodles of admin time digging for links and sending them via email to each client manually and tediously. Otherwise, I am considering hiring an online administrator to alleviate this treacherous task. Thank you for any advice or suggestions you might have. 🙂 Karyn

Hi, Karyn/ @52starcodes,

There's not an automated "here's the recording" message that goes to attendees (that I'm aware of!), but a relatively easy workaround is to leverage the post-meeting follow-up emails:

When you click Edit, check the box:

When you do, this opens up; select when you want the message to go out, and be sure to edit the text box at the bottom as soon as you can after getting the recording link:

Repeat the process for the absentee email.

Hi Ray, Thanks for that creative semi-solution. I would still need to spend time collecting the link, however, and send it manually, though the venue you suggested looks more professional as a follow-up post-meeting auto email directly from Zoom. The responsibility would still be on my shoulders. Your idea would only fix about 10% of this issue. It would require me to pay a higher price to be eligible for this follow-up email, and I would still need to spend the energy and time digging for the link and remembering to send it shortly after. I would pay more to Zoom if they could configure the follow-up email to auto-send with the recording to the client so I would be able to wash my hands from this administrative duty entirely. Or perhaps Zoom would offer AI generated help sending recordings to customers or a live representative human who could take this task on for a reasonable monthly fee. Thank you for any other suggestions that might arise. Karyn
