Why is Zoom using Outlook to notify attendees of a meeting?

Super frustrating problem: When I am scheduling a Zoom meeting, I am adding the email addresses of my attendees in the Attendees box. But then, when I create Zoom opens up Outlook, and requires me to invite the invitees again. It then sends the invite from my the calender tied to the Exchange 365 account I have.
But that is my work account. My Zoom account has nothing to do with my work email account. And I don't want invites coming from my work account. The calendar integration I have selected is a Google Account, not a Microsoft account. (see it here). Yet every time, no matter what I do, it sends invites by opening outlook and demanding I again enter the addresses.
I suspect this might be due to a recent update (see it here). But I can't find any place to change what's described there.
Help? I'm working on a Mac. You can see a screen recording of the problem here.

Hi @lessig ,
Can I have some more info?
Do you have the Zoom Outlook plugin running?
Windows will open up your default email client when you click on an email, is this what is happening?
Have you started Apple intelligence? We are seeing some weird things happening due to that.
ALl the best
John

Thanks for the reply. I'm on a Mac. I don't have the Zoom Outlook plugin running on my machine. I fear maybe the Office 365 Administrator has installed it as a default. How can I see whether it has? My default email app is Spark Desktop (as set in the Mac Mail program). And I'm at the latest OS, so Apple Intelligence is present. I've not really used it for anything.

Thanks for the reply!
I don't have the Zoom Outlook plug in running. I also don't see it running from the Admin plug ins.
My default email is Spark Desktop, as set in Mail.
I do have the latest OS, so that has Apple Intelligence, but I've not used it for anything (I know of).

OK, what I see is that you used the scheduler with Zoom, and Zoom created the event. It looks like you integrated your calendar with ZOom, and therefore, the appointment has been put in there for you.

I don't understand your response.
Yes, I'm using the Zoom “Schedule” function.
Using that function, I specify email addresses of people to invite.
Though my only connected calendar is a Google calendar, when I hit "Save" on the "Schedule" function, it opens up Outlook and asks me to send the invite from Outlook.
That's the puzzle: Why? I don't see any place in Zoom that I have connected to Outlook or my any Office 365 calendar. So why is it using an Outlook account to send the invite, and, more importantly, how do I get it to stop!

ok, resolved this (aka, I'm officially an idiot): I never realized that the Schedule interface extends beyond the first screen. When I discovered this and moved to the bottom, I saw that for some reason, Outlook had become picked as the Calendar. Apologies...

There is something going on related to Zoom, Outlook, the add-in, the plug-in, and maybe MacOS that I have just started to work on but, we are having a ton of strange issues like this.

I struggle a lot this last 6 months with scheduling meetings on my Mac and put it in my iCalender as well as Gmail. Previously is worked without problems. I ahve a paid account and seriously consider to stop it and look at other options
