I am a foreign language teacher and my students are all adults.  I do not care to check whether they are on-task (they are), or who is talking/listening/participating (they all do).  I need to hear what words they are using, in what order, and how they are pronouncing those words!  Right now, Zoom has improved breakout rooms with the enhanced breakout room app, but it is geared more toward ensuring that students are doing what they are supposed to, and giving them new info while they are in the different rooms.  The teacher can not hear the students talk.  The explanation given for this is that "it would be too confusing if you could hear everyone at once."  Wouldn't it be possible to have a "mute" button for each room?  Could I not, as a teacher, mute and unmute the breakout rooms so I could focus on what is being said in each one?  At the moment, the only option I have is to go into each breakout room and let them know I'm there.  The

how to play music on zoom call ?

I’m very new to Zoom so apologies if I’m asking a dumb newbie question…I’m running the Zoom app on Windows and it’s working fine. Let’s say I join a meeting with 4 participants. At the top of my meeting view I see 4 x small windows, one for each participant. And just below it there’s a larger view showing whoever’s currently speaking. Is there any way I can invert that view? i.e. have the large window at the top with the 4 smaller windows below it?

Cloud recording audio and video start at 00:00, but the Zoom-generated transcript starts at 51:00. There is only one recording file set, and re-downloading the transcript does not fix it.

Hi,  I heard somewhere that teachers don't have to pay for Zoom accounts, is that correct? I work as an online freelance teacher and have been paying for my account for 2 years, something which I hesitate to do anymore if it is actually free. Also, how do i get to speak to customer service in Zoom, ie. a real human being who might be able to help me from Zoom?

My guitar teacher and I have tried using Zoom for guitar lessons but there is a significant delay in audio during our meetings. Occasionally, there is a loud prolonged noise that sounds like white noise, static or a train passing by. It is so loud that it drowns out everything else and nothing else can be heard. The audio delay is a constant problem and the loud white noise static is a frequent problem. How do I eliminate these issues? Thank you.

I am using Zoom Workplace app on my ipad mini A17pro.My account is confirmed to be a paid account, but when I start a new meeting, I don't see the recording button.I can only record using Zoom Clips.

It seems Zoom has a new “feature” that when I click on a Zoom link to join someone else’s Zoom meeting, it takes me to a browser page (see screen shot below).Where I then have to chose between joining the meeting from the app or a browser.This is a time waster, because I want to use the app 100% of the time.Plus, because I have typically have quite a few browser tabs open, sometimes it can be time consuming to find this page.So it adds extra delay for me to join Zoom meeting.My question - how can I bypass having to go to this unnecessary browser page?So I can go back to having “1 click” to join a Zoom meetingAnd not waste time.    

Hi, I signed up for the Zoom phone metered plan ($12/ monthly) and after trying to add my Poly E350 Voip phone by using the MAC, I continue to get an error message stating “Extension 800 requires a Zoom Phone Metered, Unlimited, or Pro plan.” Please see attachment   Is there something I’m missing, or do I need to upgrade the plan again in order for me to add the phone? Any advice is really appreciated. Thank you

Can anyone tell me why there is a 5 second delay after I hear someone’s voicemail greeting and before I can leave a message? Also, after the 5 second delay, there is a LOUD woman’s voice giving me instructions on how to leave a voicemail. I don’t need that. No one needs that. Can I remove both the delay and instructions?

I have bulbar onset ALS, and have to type anything I want to say on a Zoom call in the chat. Is there a way to have what is typed can be spoken?  If not that is something that could be worked on.

Help!    I have tried everything:  - uninstall and reinstall - audio test (correct  - only - speakers and volume up to 100%) - Clearing cache - checking permissions - adjusting computer audio settings (various...remind me)   This is only happening on my new laptop. When I sign into my old one it works fine.    What the issue it:  When I test speakers, you basically can't hear anything. When I put my head really close to the computer, I can hear the very very faint ring tone. Computer audio is on. Sometimes it makes a brief sound or crack before going quiet. The microphone test works perfectly.    Any ideas? The new computer is a ASUS Zenbook pro.

I have two Android phones. One works great, but the other's audio has gone down incrementally for the last month to the point where I can't hear anything. Volume is at max. Bluetooth headphones work, but not the phone's speakers. Please help!

When I share an application window there is normally an annotation icon in the bottom left corner of the shared screen or in the meeting controls.  If I share my entire screen annotations are available.  However, this is not ideal for my purposes as it takes over the participants screen and impacts their workflow during the meeting.I have checked my account meeting settings and annotations are enabled.  I checked my Zoom app settings and the “include annotation toolbar” is selected.I’m running Zoom 7.0.5 (3034) on Fedora 44 with Gnome 50 and Wayland 1.24.  Same problem with Zoom 7.0.0 (1666) and 6.7.5 (6891) so I suspect this is a Gnome 50 issue. 

I see settings for when to receive notifications and whether to play a sound, but I don't see a setting to change what that sound is.  Right now it's just the generic system notification sound, but I'd like to change it to be something distinctive.

Hey everyone, I’m hosting virtual wellness and meditation sessions where I play high-quality ambient background tracks from my Android phone. I noticed that whenever I start speaking, or even when I'm silent, Zoom heavily downsamples the background music, making it sound very metallic and low-bitrate for the participants.I want to ensure my audience gets a premium, immersive audio experience without constant audio drops or heavy compression. Are there specific audio driver tweaks, advanced app configurations, or background source settings on Android that can force Zoom to maintain a consistent high-bitrate stream? Is there anyway to get fine grained control over objects? I’m trying to build diagrams and even with snap to grid turned off the objects are “magnetically” attracted to each other making precise line placements impossible. This is the most frustrating diagramming tool I’ve ever used and that includes Visio Pro 5 from 30 years ago!
