Chat

For the past week, our company's Zoom chat has been full of photo upload errors. The sender can see the photo on their screen, but the recipient can't. If we download it, we can view it, but I think the quality has dropped slightly.

Hello Zoom Support,Our chatbot receives @mentions in a Team Chat channel successfully.POST /v2/im/chat/messages returns HTTP 201 when using reply_to,but the reply is invisible under the user's original message.Replying to the bot's own messages works correctly. We verified that to_jid is the correct channel JID and reply_tomatches the original webhook message_id. The same issue occurswith direct API calls outside n8n.App ID: 8gk__loKQnSZAccUPR3cYQChannel ID: 7939393e8d5d44f19b54be68dd0bff6fFailed request:Time: 2026-10-15 06:07:21 UTCreply_to: 8c2c7031-a24a-485a-88ab-bcd468791659-W_f66578e1-NReturned message_id: 20261015060721897_N9GF7fX_aw1Tracking ID: BOT_4d2a4909082b4a1e9a0687dad4a94f9bSuccessful bot-parent reply for comparison:Time: 2026-10-15 01:59:05 UTCTracking ID: BOT_606af2096e684b08afd80b89887a26b8Please trace why the user-parent reply returns 201 but does notappear, while the bot-parent reply works.Thank you.

Very inconvenient that the only way to get a link to a channel is to add myself to the channel through the admin portal but then have to switch to the app as a regular user in order to get a channel link. Would be helpful to have the option to ‘copy channel link’ available in the channel management area of the Admin portal.

Hi everyone,I'm running into a frustrating issue with chat handling since the latest Zoom Workplace updates, and I'm wondering if anyone has found a solution or if this is a known bug.Previously, we could manage participant chat settings smoothly. However, we're now experiencing two major pain points during meetings: Split Chat Windows: When we set participants to message the "Host and Co-hosts only," individual chats now open as separate, separate threads instead of staying consolidated within one window. Missing Settings: The old “Meeting chat - Private group messages” toggle no longer seems available in the settings to enable or disable. This makes it extremely difficult to chat privately with individual participants during a live meeting while keeping everything organised and private.Has anyone else noticed this, or found a way to keep participant chats unified under the current version? For a while it worked when we were using older version of Zoom, but with the latest Zoom upda

Hi, Recently I have run into a problem that have never been an issue. The Team Chat required me to press Ctrl+Enter to send a message, Pressing Enter only could make it go down a row.Pressing Enter to send was much faster and more convenience.I think it started since the latest Update. I use the Team Chat quite a lot. So it should be helpful if you could switch it back like it used to be.Thanks.

how do i get the avitar

Hello Zoom team, I would like to suggest an improvement for the Enter key behavior in Zoom chat. Adjust the Enter key behavior in Zoom Phone so it doesn't send the message immediately. I’d like the option to have pressing Ctrl + Enter create a new line instead of sending the message. Thank you for considering this feature request!

With the recent update, has anyone else noticed that the pop-out chat window was removed for (multiple) users on Zoom Workplace 7.0.5; not present in right-click menu nor in-chat … menu; If you recently updated your version, it disappears after application restart.   :(

When we copy a formatted table from Microsoft Excel and paste it into Zoom Team Chat, all cell formatting is removed. The pasted content becomes plain text without cell borders, row and column alignment, background colors, merged cells, or table structure.Microsoft Teams preserves Excel table formatting, making the data easy to read. In Zoom Team Chat, the same data loses its structure, making it difficult for recipients to understand.Expected behavior:Preserve Excel cell borders. Preserve row and column formatting. Preserve table structure. Preserve cell background colors and formatting when pasting from Excel. This feature is important for enterprise users who frequently share reports, inventory lists, financial data, and IT documentation in Team Chat. Please consider adding support for rich Excel table formatting when pasting into Zoom Team Chat.

I find it annoying and a waste of screen real estate.

In the current Windows version of Zoom Workplace, the Home/Today panel on the right side cannot be hidden. It can only be expanded, not collapsed. There is no collapse button, no menu option, and no way to disable it. This blocks the workspace in Team Chat and reduces usability. The panel needs to be collapsible, just like in earlier versions. Please restore the ability to hide it.

I teach live online classes with a large number of participants. For years my workflow was simple: set chat to "Host and co-hosts", ask a question, and all the students' answers would come into ONE chat window where I could read them at a glance. Students could not see each other's answers, so nobody could copy. After the new meeting chat UI and the new Zoom Web Experience rolled out on my account, every single participant's message now opens as its own separate one-to-one thread. With 50 or 100 students, I would have to click each person's name individually to read their answers. It is simply not usable in a live class. What I have already checked, as the account admin:- "Meeting chat - Private group messages" (the setting that used to fix this) has been REMOVED. It is not in my personal settings and not in Admin Center > Account Settings > Meeting > In Meeting (Basic).- "Meeting chat - Direct messages" is already turned off on my account. The separate threads still happen.- T

Really would love to have a zoom call for a bunch of people to talk about different cultures and different areas and states and countries

Hi!There is a new feature in version 6.1.10 where a banner is present in every chat showing External members are present. Is there a way to disable that? It is very annoying and distracting. Thanks in advance.Ana

This red dot from the Zoom dock icon needs to go. It entirely bypasses the system preferences, even if you disable badges and notifications the red dot persists as long as you have unread Team Chats. This is entirely unnecessary and horrible UX design.

I want to add people to the zoom I don't know where to get the code

Super frustrated with how this app works. A video was shared in a meeting, in the team chat section (I assume it was team chat, it was the Chat button between the Home and Phone buttons). I downloaded them on my s26 ultra, and now they are nowhere to be found. Why is it so difficult to just be able to view what I have downloaded?

The new Zoom update has enabled me to see my scheduled meetings on the right side of my chat window. I don't want to see my scheduled meetings. Does anyone know how to get rid of this view? I just want to see my chats.

Hi All,When I have zoom running on my desktop chat notifications are not showing up on my iphone. When I exit Zoom on the desktop then I get notifications on the iphone.  And yes, I have the “...even if i am active on the desktop” checked in the iphone app settings.

I’ve noticed recently that Zoom Workplace will be unable to send files/images for 1-2 minutes. It eventually sends after retrying several times, but the strange thing is that I can’t figure out what’s triggering the issue as it only happens every now and then throughout the day (this does happen at least once a day). I’m on version 7.1.8 and this started approximately 45 days ago.Edit 9/22/2026: I tried via the web app when the issue occurred this morning and it had the same behavior. Once the desktop app allowed sending images, the web app did as well.

I am not able to add members to a group or channel. I receive an error message: this email address cannot join. These addresses are in my personal contacts.

I only use Zoom for a yoga class. Recently bought a new iPad and now when I log in my picture only shows head and shoulders no matter how far away I sit. My yoga teacher needs to see all of me. I’m sure it’s something simple but am not techy and am 74 years old. Any help would be much appreciated.

Zoom Workplace recently updated to version 7.0.5 and while some of the unwanted changes were easy to fix - I don’t use a touchscreen computer, so defaulting to fat-finger mode instead of compact layout is frustrating - there is one thing that I cannot find a setting for and the manual steps to undo it every single time are also not user-friendly. That being when I paste URLs now, rather than simply becoming a link the URL is replaced with the pre-fetched title of the destination web page. If I wanted to do this, there is already a button to make “custom” links. Undoing it every time I paste a URL - so the recipient can easily see the URL, as well as the page title if they have exercised their user choice to enable link previews - is a completely unnecessary extra few clicks on a hovering toolbar that frequently jumps away as I’m about to click on it. The fact it doesn’t remember that I’ve set it to “link” is incredibly frustrating. Also, with the ever-increasing risks of phishing, hidi

Hello,I am experiencing a reproducible issue with the Zoom desktop client on Linux.Environment: OS: Kubuntu 24.04 Desktop: KDE Plasma Session type: X11 Zoom client: 7.0.5 (3034) Package type: official .deb, not Snap Install path: /opt/zoom GPU: Intel integrated graphics + NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU xdg-desktop-portal: installed, KDE and GTK portals detected Problem:When I try to download files from Zoom chat in the desktop client, the download always fails. Zoom opens the file save dialog, I choose a destination such as ~/Downloads, /tmp, or another folder, but Zoom immediately shows Failed. The same files can be downloaded successfully from the Zoom web version. File previews inside the desktop client also work, so the file is accessible and the network side seems to be fine. The problem appears to be specific to saving/downloading files from the Linux desktop client. What I tested: Verified write permissions: touch ~/Downloads/test.txt && rm ~/Downloads/te

Hi Guys, My daughter is getting married next week and I want to host the ceremony via ZOOM. I'm comfortable with that part of the process, but does anyone know how I can just stream the ceremony and not have the participants windows show up on the screen, just the wedding from our end? Thank you, Lee
