Sharing sound  from Chromebook and continue gallery view of participants.  When I play sound to share from laptop, the screen shows large image from the sound recording and the participants either cannot see each other or the screen is dominated by the sound recording.

Hi @catherine burns,

I’m sorry for the late response. When you share audio from a Chromebook, Zoom is likely switching the meeting layout to Speaker view (or “active speaker”) because the shared audio becomes the “speaker,” so you see a large tile for the audio/content instead of the participant gallery.

Try these in the meeting:

  1. Keep Gallery View
  • Click View (top-right of the meeting) and select Gallery.
  1. Hide the shared content tile (if it’s taking over)
  • If you see a content/video tile for what’s being shared, use the View menu and look for an option like Hide video panel / Hide shared content (wording can vary by client). This minimizes the large content area so you can focus on participant tiles.
  1. If you’re sharing a tab/window: share “audio only” (if available)
  • On some setups, sharing a Chrome tab with audio can create that dominant tile. If you have an option to share computer audio without focusing on the tab/window, use that.
