Hi @catherine burns,
I’m sorry for the late response. When you share audio from a Chromebook, Zoom is likely switching the meeting layout to Speaker view (or “active speaker”) because the shared audio becomes the “speaker,” so you see a large tile for the audio/content instead of the participant gallery.
Try these in the meeting:
- Keep Gallery View
- Click View (top-right of the meeting) and select Gallery.
- Hide the shared content tile (if it’s taking over)
- If you see a content/video tile for what’s being shared, use the View menu and look for an option like Hide video panel / Hide shared content (wording can vary by client). This minimizes the large content area so you can focus on participant tiles.
- If you’re sharing a tab/window: share “audio only” (if available)
- On some setups, sharing a Chrome tab with audio can create that dominant tile. If you have an option to share computer audio without focusing on the tab/window, use that.
