Chat Error Message - Chat Disabled due to large number of participants

I am getting the message below     Meetings have under 40 participants - not large   Have not gotten this previously   Anyone else experiencing?     Any solutions?

 

Messages addressed to meeting group chat will also appear in the meeting group chat in Team Chat

Due to the large number of participants in this meeting system messages for those who joined or left have been disabled

I'm having the same issue. We are all using the same link, so how the link is set up doesn't seem to be the issue as we have the same settings.  Also, it only started showing up (we've been using this link for months).  What does happen is that once I type a chat message, I can see the chat messages from others following mine (and people can see my messages).  Perhaps it does not save the previous chat messages for viewing if you join after the meeting starts (which makes no sense)?   Hopefully, someone from support will read this and answer.

If the meetings are recurring, there could be people who no longer attend who are still in the chat. Kindly check and remove any participants who should not be in the meetings.
