Delete SMS Contacts on iPad

I have multiple duplicates in SMS contacts that are used to chat all the time, but for some reason I have no way of deleting any of them, I’ve also tried to add to existing contacts but no success.

I'm not sure that I understand your problem. Are you talking about deleting SMS messages in the Phone tab, or about deleting Contacts that show in the Contacts tab?
