We run hybrid, synchronous a/v, interactive classes - looking for video technology that will enable virtual participants to see facial expressions of in person attendees. Now, all those in person show in one zoom box & facial expressions can't be seen. We've used a combo of Brio wide angle and an Owl. People complain that the Owl jumps around too much, dizzying, and all facial expressions lost with the wide angle.

I would venture a guess that the solution I use is pretty similar to what you have, but it worked well.
We used several OBSBot 4K PTZ cams strategically positioned around our auditorium to capture in-person audience questions during a Q&A at the end of a presentation; we had a presenter station at the front of the room, and an additional assistant PC station at the back of the room (POV) to adjust the OBSBot cams as needed. We remotely changed the position/zoom of the closest camera to the attendee, and then used the spotlight feature to highlight them from the assistant station's Zoom screen when they needed to be featured.
