this is absolutely unacceptable.

and it is new from today.

my zoom link sent out to a student yesterday did not include an ad.

i know i am using a free service.  if you want to send me ads, fine.  don't try to send them to my students, partners, business contacts.

that is just shady as feck.

hi @futureenglish

all i could find on point was zoom advertising faq and zoom's privacy statement.

Zoom Advertising FAQ

https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0067146

Zoom Privacy Statement

https://www.zoom.com/en/trust/privacy/privacy-statement/

from what i read (i am no expert on privacy), maybe what you experienced is an error.

the faq states: "Note (4/21/22): After piloting the advertising program for several months, Zoom has decided to discontinue the program in order to focus our resources on areas of our business that we believe will best drive our strategy and long-term growth."

before 4/21/22, it appears that zoom would only send ads to an invitee if both the host and the invitee were free accounts.

you might consider consider contacting zoom as provided in the privacy policy by regular mail or by email to:

"If you have any privacy-related questions or comments related to this Privacy Statement, please send an email to ***********."

Did my response answer your question? If so, please don't forget to mark the reply as an accepted solution.

thanks,  eliot
