On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Zoom cannot detect a camera only in meetings

My camera is working. In zoom settings it works, too, when I am the host of a meeting, but when I enter a meeting I get the message that zoom does not detect the camera. Even when I go into the settings it works, but at the same time it doesn't work in the meeting.

Hi DHofmeister,

It is possible whoever is hosting the meeting has their security settings set to prevent you from using a camera. https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/4409500570381-Stopping-all-incoming-video-in-a-meeting-or-...

I have carried out several tests with different accounts of mine to rule out these problems, the problem only occurs with desktop zoom. I always make video calls by phone, because I have not been able to solve the problem on my notebook.

Do you happen to have a Lenovo device?

It's a bit of a camera conundrum you've got there. Let's try some quick fixes:

  1. Check other apps and close them if they're using the camera.

  2. Make sure Zoom has camera permission.

  3. Give your device a restart – it might do the trick.

  4. Update Zoom to the latest version.

Hopefully, these tips will make your camera smile again in meetings. If not, Zoom support can lend a hand. Happy video chatting! 📷👍
