Zoom app disconnecting Livetrak L-8 on Mac Silicon

System Setup and Hardware

- MacMini M1 running Sequoia 15.2 (24C101),

- Connected by USB to,

- Zoom Livetrak L-8 running v1.12 and driver installed on Mac OS.

Fault

Livetrak L-8 functions normally as an audio interface when Zoom is closed. As soon as Zoom app is opened the interface disconnects and cannot be used, including in Zoom. As soon as Zoom is closed, the interface returns to functioning normally.

Restarting the Mac and reinstalling Zoom software makes no difference.

The short answer will be that this is not a 'certified' device (despite the fact that it's a 'Zoom' device, it's made by another company called Zoom, that has nothing to do with the conferencing platform).

Longer answers - check your drivers for the L-8 and ensure you're running latest / if you're not trying to use the interface in Zoom, ensure that Zoom does not have the interface selected as an input or output / close any other applications that may be trying to access the device / change system audio defaults (in System Preferences for MacOS) to not use this device as a default audio device.

I have the same weird problem! Zoom Livetrak L8, Mac Studio M2 Max. Sequoia 15.2.  When I start Zoom (the software), the Livetrak L8 does not show as an option when selecting audio input/output.

Yep, exactly the same issue at our end. ;-(

I had exactly the same problem with my L-8 on two separate Macs, but after deleting all vestiges of Zoom (I used a shell script I found on GitHub) and reinstalling, my L-8 works fine! I suspect it's a security/privacy bug in macOS: Zoom was granted access to the microphone, but somehow not _that_ microphone.

Hi Joe.
Could you please share a link to the script [presumably for the complete uninstall of the Zoom software app]..
Thx
