I am struggling with my Zoom camera. When I join a meeting, it shows my screen as grey with a laptop on the screen. The camera on my laptop is circled. I am not sure how to fix this. This has never happened to me before. I am not sure if my camera should be the same as the system or integrated system. I am also not sure what the video rendering method and hardware acceleration option should be. I looked at the troubleshooting steps and I am honestly lost as where to start to fix this. I wish I could attach a photo of my screen and settings. It is also disappointing that I cannot receive support from a live agent unless I have a paid subscription.

HI @msawuah123 ,
I would first go into the settings and then the video section without being in a meeting and working through the options. You would want to use hardware acceleration as a rule, but it depends on your hardware.
If the laptop has a built-in camera, then it is normally shown as integrated.
I would turn of virtual backgourns, blurring and all other features to reduce the load on the machine.
Once you save all of this, do a good old reboot.

Hello - Macbook Pro user here. In the last 6 months about once every 6 weeks my internal Mac camera will flicker in our weekly zoom meetings. It works fine in Photo Booth. To get Zoom to work again I have to uninstall Zoom, reboot, re-install Zoom. This has caused several meetings to be held using an iPhone propped on its side instead of the laptop, so a large fall in video and audio quality. How can I get the camera to work again in Zoom without going through the uninstall process? Note prior to 6 months ago, zoom and the internal camera worked fine twice a week for 2 years, so it is related to a Zoom update as best I can tell.
Thank you,

Hi @CSBirmingham ,
OK, I'm very confused because you should have a much better video when using the iPhone than when using your built-in camera. How do you connect?
Is the flicker because of the lighting and the camera at the same rate as the lights?
Otherwise, I think I need to do a video to explain this better
