When I am typing in Keynote or in Pages, it interrupts typing ( both my own and my client's when they are typing on my screen). We suddenly hear a chime for each key as we type, indicating typing on the screen has stopped. Sometimes, the Zoom home screen pops up, and we have to click on the page again to make it go away and resume typing. Sometimes, it happens 10-15 times in an hour. This just started happening in 2025. Help!

Go to settings > keyboard shortcuts
and uncheck shortcuts that have global enabled.

I checked my settings and none of the shortcuts were checked so there was nothing to disable.

In that case you are dealing with the OS. You have implied that the device is Apple but have not stated the specific device and OS. Apple is very picky about having control of hardware and software compatibility and functionality. Much more so than Microsoft and PCs. Apple devices have numerous ways to do shortcuts including creating app related shortcuts. But all shortcuts require at least 2 keys to be pressed together and there are restrictions to creating shortcuts. So details of the exact keystrokes need to be known to better identify what is happening. Take a look at the following links for clues:

FYI, it is possible to create shortcuts that can join a meeting or sign in and launch a meeting. But this is not in any instructions.

I did that but none of my shortcuts were enabled. All of the boxes were unchecked.
