My device appears to have the requirements for virtual backgrounds or blurr but Zoom tells me it doesn't. I looked them up. What can I do now?

Your processor is what is not meeting the system requirements. Your processor is a 2nd generation i5 processor with 2 cores. The virtual background system requirements state you must have at least a 3rd generation i5 processor with 2 cores.

Hi @SteveW68 it's been some time since you've posted this discussion! Just need specs of your device to ensure you meet the requirements from our KB on  virtual background system requirements

Help.  I have the same problem; says my computer does not support virtual backgrounds.  Processor is AMD Ryzen 3 2200GE with Radeon Vega Graphics 3.20 GHz.  I don't know a lot about computer; is that not enough?

This is insane.  There are threads on this topic literally going back years and Zoom just expects us to solve the problem ourselves--a problem that Teams doesn't have, as you know.  Apparently the only solution is for me to buy a new laptop just for the "privilege" of accessing all the features of Zoom.  Or I can paint my walls green so I have a "green screen."  Please don't refer me to the page with the system requirements--the processors for just about every laptop I've looked at either aren't on your list at all or the numbering system is different. How am I supposed to know what's equivalent?  For example what the *** is an Intel Processor N200, to name just one of several I've come across that aren't on your list.   Since they're not does that mean they won't work? Even if they were just introduced a few months ago? How am I supposed to know what--if anything--is equivalent?  I can't believe I have to buy a new laptop, try it out and hope that it works, and then return it if it doesn't.

Hey @ao915 welcome to the community, and I'm sorry you're having trouble using Virtual Background without a green screen. Is the device on which you're attempting to run Zoom powered by an Intel Processor N200?

mines an n95 with 16gb ram. A literal mini gaming pc that handles all games. But it won't allow me to use a background without a green screen?

Hey there, I have a Dell latitude 7320 with an 11th generation Intel Core I7-1185G7 at 3.00 gigahertz with 16 gigs of ram. Why won't virtual backgrounds work for this computer?

I guess Zoom is encouraging us to look for other platforms to host our meetings.  Not easy to consider upgrading a device to host Zoom.

Sorry due to recent staff reduction, Zoom has no manpower to update CPU list. The list will be updated every 2 years, if its Staff can really catch up. Good luck!

I just bought a new laptop ntel® Core™ Ultra 7 165U and my laptop is not 'good' enough for virtual background.

Zoom may collapse as a company if this continues. I just looked at the specs of your processor: The Intel Core Ultra 7 165U is a mobile processor with 12 cores, launched in December 2023, at an MSRP of $448. It is part of the Ultra 7 lineup, using the Meteor Lake architecture with BGA 2049.  https://www.techpowerup.com/cpu-specs/core-ultra-7-165u.c3523#:~:text=The%20Intel%20Core%20Ultra%207....

Just buy a new device with the latest fanciest processor and latest software and be prepared to throw it in the rubbish in about 3 -5 years.  Windows 10 is going to be redundant soon, so is all similar tech products, iPhone 15 series have already been dumped with no further updates possible, all big tech companies are going down this rabbit hole of forcing us to upgrade our devices. No escaping this monumental waste of digital hardware, unless the EU or similar large powerhouse blocks hold these companies responsible for these actions.

I have Intel Core 3 100U, better than i5 gen 8. And have a very poor virtual background. Wow. And now i have to buy a new laptop? or the old laptop?

Blurred background does not work at all? I am faced with the question of buying a new mini PC, there are core 3 100u and i3 1220P. 100u is slightly more powerful and modern, but I am afraid that background blur will not work, for me this is very important
