Beginning of June 23, we had a Zoom meeting (webinar) that our host recorded and intended to share. When we asked about the recording, he claimed that it had been recorded with a default setting that only retained the recording for seven days.
a) Any chance to recover this recording? (Presumably, it was permanently deleted without going into the trash folder first.)
b) Where can this default setting be changed? (We could not find this in the settings, but would like to let our host know so that this does not happen again.)
Thank you.

By default, Zoom retains cloud recordings for a period of 30 days. However, it's important to note that the retention period may vary depending on your Zoom account type and any settings configured by your Zoom administrator. Here are a few key points to consider regarding the default recording retention settings in Zoom:
Free Basic accounts: For free Zoom Basic accounts, cloud recordings are retained for 30 days from the date of recording. After 30 days, the recordings are automatically deleted.
Paid accounts: If you have a paid Zoom account, such as Zoom Pro, Business, or Enterprise, the default retention period for cloud recordings is also 30 days. However, you have the option to change this setting and increase or decrease the retention period based on your requirements.
Account-level settings: If you are an account administrator or have access to account settings, you can configure the default retention period for cloud recordings at the account level. This means you can set a different retention period that applies to all users under your Zoom account.
Custom retention periods: With a paid Zoom subscription, you can also set custom retention periods for individual recordings. This allows you to specify how long each recording should be retained, overriding the default retention period.
