Zoom AI Companion2024-06-18 04:24 PM
I have been teaching violin lessons via Zoom on my laptop, and it has always worked fine until the latest update. After this update, it’s not functioning properly. I have enabled the original sound, the musician's mode, and even checked if Windows had any sound effects activated, but there were none. I went through all these settings with my student as well, and everything seemed correct. However, after the update, it’s not working. I can hear my student speaking, but when they play the violin, I hear nothing.
We spent more than 40 minutes testing different options and microphones (headphones, etc.), but I still couldn't hear the violin sound. My student could hear me normally. The issue was only resolved when I joined the meeting from my phone as well. I then deactivated the audio on my computer and used only my phone for audio. When I did this, I could hear the sound normally on my phone, but not on my computer.
Interestingly, when my student played, the microphone icon on my computer showed activity, but no sound was coming through on the computer, only on the phone. What could be causing this? What can I do to resolve this issue?

Hi, the student also is with the musician mode activated. But I finally solved the problem!
My Predator (acer) laptop coming with a software: "Acer Purified Voice" that increases a AI effect on the mics and sounds. When I turn off it, the problem is solved! (this is why was not working on my laptop but working on my phone...)

The STUDENT needs to turn on original audio in settings and click original audio in the upper right of the window to turn it on. Be sure you have the correct mic and the correct speaker selected in Zoom. Beyond this audio can get very complicated depending upon the OS and the hardware.
