Zoom AI Companionā2024-11-20 01:35 AM
Hi all!
Steps to reproduce the issue:
- Move second zoom window to another screen, put it into full screen mode.
- Move also any other window (i. e. picture) to the other screen (on top of the second zoom window), put it into full screen mode, too.
- Share the second screen, stop sharing and bring the second zoom window on the other screen to the top.
> The second zoom window lost its full screen mode.
How can I make the second zoom window keep its full screen mode, even after screen sharing?
Kind regards,
Gerald

It is not clear what your intent for doing this is expected to produce. It sounds like you need to consider a different workflow because of all the rules you want to violate. More about what is actually trying to be done would offer insight into what needs to be done to resolve the issues. It sounds like what you are trying to do is possible with a different workflow.

Hi!
Thank you for your reply.
It's a quite simple scenario:
There is an audience in a hall, having a speaker and other attendants over Zoom.
The Zoom host is sitting in the same hall on a PC, having two screens connected: the main screen and a screen in front of the audience.
He moves the second Zoom window to the screen in front of the audience, and switches that window into full screen mode. So the audience in the hall can see the current speaker.
When the speaker wants to present the window of another application (i. e. Software presentation), the host shows that window - also in full screen mode - on the screen in front of the audience and also shares the content of that screen on Zoom.
> When the host stops the screen sharing, the second Zoom window is not in full screen mode anymore.
But the second Zoom window should keep its window state, independent of the host sharing a screen or not.
Is that more clear now?

I do this quite often and just did a presentation today with 800 in the audience viewing a 10' projected image and 206 on Zoom viewing a slightly different combination which was more suitable for broadcasting. I would strongly recommend that you learn to use OBS Studio with the DistroAV NDI plugin to manage the switching and routing rather than trying to do it in Zoom. OBS Studio will even allow you to overly the image of the speaker anywhere on the screen and adjust it to any size. It will also permit downstream keying a technique used in TV broadcasting to show lower thirds or an image or video on top while the background is being switched. Use OBS studio and all your issues go away and many new opportunities will be available.

Hi!
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately third party software is no option for us.
We need to achieve the needed by the Zoom client itself.
Kind regards, Gerald

You may want to reconsider using this FREE software that is used by millions of organizations to manage hybrid broadcasts (controlling live events mixed with simultaneous broadcast). It will certainly eliminate all the frustrations.

Sorry - no option for us.
We just need the Zoom client working properly.

The Zoom client is performing as intended. Sorry to hear you do not wish to adjust your workflow so all switching works smoothly. As I stated before I do a similar task with none of the issues you are noting. What you are attempting to do by moving windows can be done with a simple single click.

It seems like the second Zoom window is losing its full-screen state after you stop sharing the screen. This could be related to how Zoom handles window states during screen sharing.
Here are a few things you can try to maintain full-screen mode on the second window:

Hi!
Thank you for your reply.
1. This is no option for us, as there should be no action on the screen, that would be visible for the audience during the presentation.
2. As described above we are using dual monitors in our setting. The second Zoom window needs to be dragged to and from the second screen, as only the speaker should be visible for the audience in the hall during his presentation. After his presentation, the second Zoom window is of no use (but distracting) for the audience and needs to be removed from the second screen.
3. We do know the 'Dual monitor' setting in the Zoom client. But where do we find the 'Multiple Displays' settings?
4. We are always using the latest version of Zoom.
Kind regards, Gerald

My problem has also been solved. Thank you.
