On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Registration Questions

We are setting up our first webinar and am trying to understand some things around registration.  We want to request registration to have an idea of how many people will join.  However, we want some flexibility.  Is there a way to set it up so that we can also send out the Zoom link on the day before and allow people to jump in without registering?   Or would we have to send out the registration link the day before and then people will just have to register and get the Zoom link via email?

Hi JR22,

I believe you can require registration when creating the Webinar to get the number you want and then on the day of the Webinar simply turn off the required registration and send out the invitation link. While this solution should work as you want, requiring a simple registration of name and email is not asking too much of attendees.
