Hi all,
I'm trying to make Zoom Events hub the single access area for all of our events, however as we all know, registering, paying for and attending a Paid event is only allowed in certain countries.
Question: Can I provide a Free ticket to a paid event to people outside of the list of countries and they will have no issues attending and having the same experience? Example, if someone in Botswana, Africa wanted to attend and paid my company directly (not via zoom) and I issue the individual with a free ticket - would this enable them to attend?
Thanks

Welcome to the Zoom Community, @IC2.
First, make sure you understand the difference between not being able to sell tickets to paid events, and not allowing registrations in certain countries. I’m sure you’re probably already aware of the distinction.
You can issue a free ticket to anyone. I suggest creating a separate ticket that is only available to Email addresses you import, just update the list as people pay you directly.

Hi Ray,
Thank you for the reply.
The scenario. If you look at the list of countries where zoom paid events can be registered and attend pretty much the whole of africa is exlcuded (as an example). I have tested this and people residing in Africa cannot even register (the button is greyed out).
So to enable them to attend the session - I am planning on quoting them and taking payment directly and then issuing a "free" ticket to the event. I'm hoping this will allow them to attend unhindered. Is this the case from your knowledge/experience?
Thanks
Ian

Hi, @IC2. That scenario sounds reasonable.
FYI, the reason people from some countries are not able to pay for Zoom Events is a restriction by the payment processing providers, Stripe and Paypal. It’s not a restriction Zoom is creating on its own.
