On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Problem with automatic recording of scheduled meetings in Cal.com and Zoom

Why don't the meetings that are scheduled for me by Cal.com automatically record in Zoom, if I have it set to record at startup?

Hello @GianmarcoRusher

I am not familiar with the cal.com service as a scheduler for Zoom, but I what I can say is "Automatic Meeting Recording" is a feature that depend of your Zoom Account settings.

I would suggest to look and check the following:

  • I know Outlook calendar and others sync the Zoom Meetings default settings from the Zoom Portal, and allow you to override some of those on a per-meeting basis. Check the cal.com doesn't the same, or maybe has it own Meeting Default Template settings overriding Zoom Default settings.
  • Check the Zoom Portal Default settings for Automatic Recording (and others in there) by to going to your Zoom Personal Portal:  "PERSONAL > Settings > Recordings" scroll until you find "Automatic Recordings" and verify it is enabled. I don't know your case but in some Business Environments, that setting is forbidden to be enabled and locked by Admin. If that is your case, you need to talk to your Zoom Admin and make your case of needed that enabled.
  • After you have Scheduled a meeting with cal.com, go to your Zoom portal to verify the meeting it showing in there as well: "PERSONAL > Meetings > UPcming"

I hope this helps, and if so, please mark this as (Accept as Solution)

Attached is a picture of how it looks like when the option is Disabled and Disallowed by the Zoom Administrator (my personal case).
