We recently hosted an Office Hours conversation around the things we wish we knew before starting with Zoom Events. It was a fun conversation with a ton of great content and feedback from the Zoom Events user community! Wanted to drop the key takeaways here, or feel free to register and watch the session. 1. License Settings Shape Everything — Audit Early and OftenYour license holder's web portal settings directly control event functionality — even when hosting through the events portal. Critical toggles like co-host permissions, screen sharing, Q&A, and recording options must be reviewed before launch. Many teams discover these limitations mid-event, forcing rushed fixes during rehearsals or live sessions. Kelly Carvalho's advice: audit your account settings (meeting, webinar, and recording) at the user level before your first event to ensure your production capabilities match your vision.2. 👋 Welcome to the Zoom Slides Community Creating presentations is one of the most common parts of work. Yet for many people, it's still more time-consuming than it should be. Ideas are scattered across meetings, documents, chats, emails, and countless browser tabs. Turning those ideas into a clear and compelling presentation often takes hours of gathering, organizing, designing, and refining. We're building Zoom Slides to make that process simpler. A place where ideas can move naturally from thinking → creating → presenting → getting buy-in. 🚀 New to Zoom Slides? If your IT team wants to understand the Zoom Marketplace connector for Sharepoint and Zoom Virtual Agent, below you will find common questions and best practices. Link the to connector is here. 1. How Authentication and Permissions WorkWhen you connect SharePoint as a knowledge base source in Zoom Virtual Agent, the integration uses OAuth authentication. This means: The SharePoint account used during authentication authorizes the connection between Zoom and Microsoft 365. The Virtual Agent does not gain elevated or independent permissions — it can only access content that the authenticated account has permission to view. In other words, the Virtual Agent “inherits” the same access rights as the SharePoint account used to establish the connection. This design ensures that SharePoint’s native access controls remain fully enforced. If a document or site is restricted for that account, the Virtual Agent will not be able to retrieve or surface it. 2. Restricting Access to Specific Sites

Hi, I recently updated to Fedora 35 with GNOME 41. This GNOME release restricts the screenshot API which Zoom has used for screen sharing on Wayland, so the screen sharing functionality no longer works (see here on Ask Fedora). I require screen sharing for school, and I'm sure many others have a similar requirement/system configuration. With Wayland increasingly becoming a de facto standard on Linux, it is crucial that Zoom support Wayland screen sharing.
Hello - just updated zoom today (11.02.22) and it seems like Original Sound needs to be turned on manually every time now. For the last few months it was already always on once I did it initially ... and this was so amazing. No more messing up meetings where I share audio or workshops where we're working on music things and I just know its going to sound amazing from the beginning without the extra awkward "wait let me turn on original sound". Is there a way for me to turn original sound on and let it be that way forever on the newest version? If not...can this become a thing please?
Hi, I just installed Zoom client 6.1 on openSuSE and screen sharing is not showing any option anymore on Basic, but only under Advance tab, and there in this one I can only select Screen Portion, but also cannot confirm the screen sharing. Please fix it or let me know how to downgrade to previous version. Thanks in advance!
I went into my Zoom today, which I use for personal reasons to stay in touch with family. I opened on my desktop, per usual, signed in, and it immediately took me to "Zoom Workplace" and all my scheduled meetings were gone. I had to go onto Zoom's website and login to my account there in order to find them. I do not want Zoom workplace. I do not want to be charged for Zoom workplace. I don't want to have to sign in through the website. If I find out I'm being charged extra for a service I neither wanted nor use, I'm cancelling my account and moving to another online meeting platform. Does anyone know how to switch back, or have experienced this?
Every so often - cant seem to find a specific timeframe - the Zoom Windows 10 desktop signs me out, this has happened twice in the middle of a meeting too, it is quite frustrating, anyone else experiencing this? I do have Zoom installed on a second PC and my phone, but when this occurs, the PC is switched off and the phone (Android) doesnt have Zoom active.
Recently a change was made to auto-lower raised hands when people stop talking. This is not working and we use the RAISED HAND for stand-ups and stand-downs to show who hasn't gone yet. Now, the system keeps lowering hands because someone may comment on another persons update and the system thinks that person is done talking. It's really annoying and not helpful.
The Auto-Generated Closed captions are a very useful tool on meetings, and I know that we have the ability to save the transcripts. I would like to see an option to automatically save the transcript of meetings, differentiated based on whether I am a participant or host. Or at least a prompt. As it currently stands if I forget to save the transcript before I leave a meeting there is no way to recover it. Tyler
Hello I've never had this problem before but my computer seems to have 2 or 3 audio options that I don't fully understand.1. Nvidia2. Realtek I think that one is for the inbuilt speaker in the screen while another one is when I plug in a mic and speaker probably. The third option while in Zoom is system. Anyway, in my Zoom session a couple of minutes ago, a screen kept appearing that the audio output had been changed and the sound kept switching from the speaker in the screen to the headphones every few secondsI tried forcing Zoom to stay with one system by making a choice in audio options, but this got overridden and the problem started again After a few minutes, only the speakers in the screen worked and the headphones were dead which was hard as I had to take the headphones off and then could not easily use the microphone attached to the headphones But why did I get this problem today? I have a really important Zoom meeting on 14Oct and I need to
I recently upgraded to a 5th generation iPad Pro. When I have my iPad Pro connected to my MacBook Pro and during a Zoom meeting if I select share ipad via cable, there is a loud buzzing noise that happens every 30 seconds that all participants can hear. If I remove the cable and choose share ipad via airplay, there is no buzzing sound. This behavior is something new with the 5th generation iPad. If I connect my 3rd generation iPad Pro (same configuration, IOS version, and apps as the 5th generation) and choose share iPad via cable, there is no buzzing sound. I have the lastest IOS versions on my MacBook Pro and iPad Pro and the latest version of Zoom. Is anyone else having this problem? I have contacted Apple support several times and after trying many things, they say contact Zoom of course. I have an appointment at the Apple genius bar later today to have the look at it.
I have been using virtual backgrounds without issue since March 2020, but in recent weeks I have sporadic issues with Zoom failing to work with any virtual backgrounds. When I turn on the camera, the feed stays black until a pop-up comes up saying that the virtual background is still loading and asking me to start video anyway or stop. I can not ever get the background to work. Unplugging and reconnecting the webcam, changing ports on the dock, restarting Zoom don't work. Using the mic on the webcam never suffers any issues and works even when the feed is black while Zoom is apparently attempting to load the virtual background. Once I click on "Use video" button and ignore the virtual background, the camera works without issue though obviously without the virtual background. Setup is USB Logitech webcam attached via VAVA USB-C dock on 2019 Macbook Pro running macOS Big Sur 11.4. Zoom version is 5.7.6. Has anyone else encountered this or have ideas for fixes
Hi, We have just logged into Zoom and noticed that we can no longer see all of our scheduled meetings at once. Instead, we have to enter a date range and only a month at a time can be selected. This is really unhelpful as we schedule numerous meetings months in advance and can often not remember the exact date so being able to scroll through all of our meetings is useful. Making us have to search through our meetings a month at a time takes what used to be a two minute task and turned it into one that can take ages, and also because this "new feature" is not widely known, we are getting bombarded with other users panicking because they think their meetings have been lost. Is there any way to turn this terrible feature off and go back to being able to see all of our meetings? Thank you!
I updated my Zoom on my Mac and started having my camera flash, glitch, go black and white, funky colors, reflect my screen during my Zoom calls when not screen sharing. I DO NOT have an external camera connected. I have never had these problems with Zoom before. When I open photo booth or other apps that use my camera I do not have this problem. I have restarted my computer and redownloaded Zoom. Both have not worked.
As of this week Zoom no longer automatically prompts to add to the iCal calendar I've had connected to our account for over a year. It said I had to sync a calendar, I went online - where there is no longer an iCal option (used Google instead since the email for that calendar is registered there) and it did not stick - endless loop. What the heck is going on here and will this be repaired or returned to previous state so that I don't have to manually copy and paste the invite info into an iCal invite over and over again now?
As of a week or two ago, I'm not able to leave meetings by the leave button nor by quitting the program. The only way to get out is to End Task from the task manager. This problem remains even after restarting my laptop. Clicking the Leave button doesn't pop up the dialogue box to leave (I do see a quick flash of it briefly sometimes), and choosing to quit the program from the taskbar doesn't seem to do much of anything. Hoping to get to the bottom of this. TIA.
I have 8 to 10 recurring meetings, a few of which I have used since 2019. All of my recurring meetings disappeared today. I last used one yesterday. I use the desktop zoom app, so I logged in to web to see if my meetings were visible in my account on web. They are not there. I then followed the support page instructions to "Recover" a meeting (this recovers a meeting that was deleted), but I am not presented with the "Recover" option in the expected place. I created a new recurring meeting and it shows up in my account in the desktop app and on web, whereas all my old recurring meetings are just gone. There is nothing in "Previous" and they are not in "Meetings." Did this happen to anyone else today?? NEW INFO that I discovered right before posting: I am able to see all my existing recurring meetings on my Android phone app, including the new one I created today. PLEASE HELP. What is happening? EDIT: Now, I can see my older recurring meetings on web, but I
I just logged into try and schedule some meetings and the whole interface has been changed. I go to click on meetings and it gives me the option to "host" or "join" a meeting.... Sigh..... Where the heck did they move the dashboard when you used to log into your account and it launched right then and there. Now it's filled with all sorts of garbage promoting more services to buy that don't interest me and clutter up my screen. And, where do you request support to chat with a support agent? I'm not interested in their stupid AI bots. I don't understand why they have to make things harder.
Hello! I recently began to use zoom to schedule meetings regularly, but I have noticed that when typing in the 'attendee' field to schedule a meeting, there's no option to just choose from my actual contacts list or autofill. Given how often we hold the meetings and the amount of people, it's a bit tedious to copy/paste each individual email address. Given how common a feature autofilling contacts is, how do I do this on my Zoom account? I already have contacts saved in my personal contacts list, but that doesn't seem to do anything.
I have used Zoom for over 19 months with no issue. Suddenly, in the last 3 weeks, my clients videos are freezing, I can hear them but can't see them. They can see and hear me. I have tested the internet connection speed and have done the check from multiple locations. I have a feeling this started after my last software update. Anyone else experiencing the same? BTW this is happening with multiple groups of clients. Thanks!
I installed zoom on my freshly installed ubuntu 22.04 LTS and I faced a issue where i was only able to share whiteboard instead of my screen and there is no option other than that. How can i enable screen share? Is there any problem because ubuntu adopted wayland instead of xorg?
