Whiteboard

After the update the other day, it seems like the custom color option for whiteboard pens is gone. Has anyone found where it is?

Hi,  What do I need help with?I would like to seek your help in solving 1 issue I ran into in the past week: in the past week, some of the texts entered in Traditional Chinese characters on whiteboard will disappear once the meeting participants (myself and the attendees included) finish typing and hit enter. I’ve been using Zoom for the past 4 years+, and I’ve never had this issue until last week when Zoom whiteboard had an update (with new visual layouts for the tool bar).  What I have tried to fix the problem (to no avail):So far, I’ve tried to fix it with the following methods:Disable the “Use Whiteboard by default” option in Setting (under “Meeting (General)) Change text to all the available fonts in Whiteboard Fix possible incompatibility issue by updating Window IME (Traditional Chinese input) Enter text using “Post-it” on Whiteboard instead of using the text box Updating Zoom Desktop APP to the latest version None of them solved my issue. I do 20+ meetings every week on Zoom wi

A new problem has come up just in the last couple of days that I have had no problems with previously. While using Zoom to tutor, I use both my MacBook and iPad. The iPad is for writing on the Zoom whiteboard. For some reason, when I write on the whiteboard on my iPad, I can see what I am writing until I lift my Apple Pencil at which point what I wrote disappears on my iPad but is visible on my MacBook and for everyone else in the meeting (including my student). As you can imagine, it is quite difficult to write on the whiteboard with my iPad when I cannot see what I have already written. Has anyone experienced this? How can I fix this? I have tried deleting and reinstalling the Zoom app on my iPad, following and unfollowing the creator of the whiteboard, and creating the whiteboard on both my MacBook and on my iPad. None of these have helped.

I really hope we can upload image / pdf from mobile because that would allow my students to add picture of their exercises (taken with their smartphone) on the Whiteboard. That feature seems to exist on desktop / iPad but not on smartphone (at least I tried on Android) ?When using phone in landscape mode, we get a button to ”see more tools”, but nothing happens when clicking on it (or everything is burried under the keyboard which makes it impossible to use). Many thanks

Hi,I have a Whiteboard which contains multiple locked objects. I want to be able to select several of them in one go and unlock them in one go. How do I do that? As far as I can tell:You can only select one locked object at a time and unlock it. Painful. You cannot select multiple locked objects even by selecting them individually. Frustrating. You cannot select multiple locked objects even by dragging around them. Frustrating.

I use the Classic Whiteboard on an iPad Air. After updating this week to version 6.2.3 my Apple Pencil doesn't write smoothly on the screen. In contrast, the stylus works properly in other apps. It even works properly in the newer Whitboard, but I can't use that option because I can't see the other participant. Has anyone else experienced this Apple Pencil problem?

How to use the SIGMA symbol on the whiteboard.  Using an ipad pro.  All versions up to date.  Is there a tutorial or site I can go to?

I recently purchased iPad 5th generation along with Apple Pencil and started seeing compatibility issues when I used Apple Pencil to write on Zoom whiteboard. There is a lag when one writes, the characters are unclear and appear sometimes not legible. I took it to the Apple store and they exchanged the iPad, Pencil and reloaded the software however this issue remained. I was advised by Apple representative that Zoom has issues with the Apple M1 chip and this needs to be resolved by Zoom with a software update. I do not have this issue with the Apple iPad 3rd generation the writing comes out perfectly well. Let me know if someone in this forum has seen similar issue and how was it resolved.

Hello! I updated Zoom a couple of days ago. Since then, my annotations have started to fail. While I am screen sharing and using the annotate tools, they disappear for a few seconds while I add text boxes, draw lines, use highlighters or shapes, click on tabs, and practically do anything that requires clicking or moving the cursor. It's really annoying because I use tools throughly, which means the participants can barely see what I am annotating. Edit: I played around with the controls in a Zoom meeting. I discovered that pausing the shared screen is what triggers the annotations to fail. Unpausing does not solve the issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Zoom to no avail. I have a Macbook Pro 13-inch M1 from 2020 with MacOS Monterey 12.6.1. I would appreciate any feedback or recommendations to fix this issue. Thanks in advance!

Hi Guys,How can I use the whiteboard? Tried many times couldn’t reach the whiteboard.Best Regards,Omran

I am an external training providerClient participants need to be able to access and edit a whiteboard during a meeting - without signing in to Zoom (as they don’t have accounts)How can this be enabled? They will be accessing whiteboards in breakout rooms as well as main room.

I am facing an issue with the Zoom Whiteboard where the text inside flowchart shapes got automatically rotated by 90 degrees. This behavior started occurring recently, likely after a Zoom update, even though no manual changes were made to the orientation.Issue Details:Text within shapes appears vertically (rotated 90°) instead of horizontal The shape itself remains normal; only the text is affected Unable to reset the text orientation using standard formatting options Issue persists across sessions and boardsImpact: This is affecting usability during meetings, as the content becomes difficult to read and requires additional effort to recreate shapes or re-enter text.

Hi community,I am using the system today and encountered an issue where the screen freezes upon downloading a report. Here are the details:Use case: Trying to download the monthly report. Steps taken: Logged into the system, clicked on "Report", and then clicked the "Download" button. Error message: No error message pops up, but nothing happens. The screen just freezes completely. Troubleshooting done: I have tried using an Incognito window and clearing the browser cache (Ctrl + F5), but the issue persists. Environment details: Browser: Google Chrome (Latest version compatible) Operating System: Windows 7 Could anyone please help me fix this or check if there is a server-side issue?Thank you!

Hello Zoom Team,I am experiencing what appears to be a server-side Whiteboard data issue with my personal Zoom Workplace Basic account.SummaryUntil recently, my account contained more than 10 Zoom Whiteboards. Now only 2 boards remain:one board that I own and can edit; one shared board that is read-only.All other Whiteboards have disappeared.EnvironmentZoom Workplace Basic Personal Gmail account (not managed by any organization) Latest Zoom Workplace desktop client Same behavior in both the desktop application and the Zoom web portalTroubleshooting already completedI have already verified all of the following:Signed in to the correct Zoom account. Whiteboard worked previously with this same account. Updated Zoom Workplace to the latest version. Signed out and signed back in. Tested on both desktop and web. Trash is empty. Whiteboard no longer appears as a separate product in the application (only Message Boards are shown). https://app.zoom.us/wb/home redirects to the Zoom home page. htt

I am on a Windows 11 PC, and apps such as the Whiteboard, Notes, and Calendar restart seconds after they load successfully. After a few restarts, the application gives up and gives me an error saying, "Something went wrong" "If the error persists, contact support for help. Error code: FB48187B-0x26-0000-0000-00-08-00". This happens both inside the Zoom Workplace application with the Calendar feature, and also inside Zoom Meetings when attempting to open or view a Whiteboard or when trying to take Notes.

Hi, I have a whiteboard where we’d like to use the polling feature in a workshop. I have a Zoom workplace account through my company, and myself and a colleague are ‘editors’ on the board. We want to allow workshop participants to view the board and partcipate in voting/polls in the whiteboard. Can I share the ‘view only’ link in the meeting chat, will they still be able to vote? I don’t want to give everyone edit permission as I don’t want every participant to be able to move objects around on the board. Thanks.

Is there anyway to get fine grained control over objects? I’m trying to build diagrams and even with snap to grid turned off the objects are “magnetically” attracted to each other making precise line placements impossible. This is the most frustrating diagramming tool I’ve ever used and that includes Visio Pro 5 from 30 years ago!

Hi Zoom Community! We're exploring new ways to use AI to make whiteboarding feel more seamless during live meetings. We're looking to speak with facilitators, workshop leaders, project managers, educators, and anyone who regularly runs collaborative sessions on Whiteboard. One area we're actively working on is helping teams capture and organize ideas as conversations happen. Instead of stopping to take notes, sort sticky notes, or structure discussions, we're investigating how AI can help facilitate those activities in real time. We'd love to learn:How you run brainstorming, planning, retrospectives, or workshops today What information you wish Whiteboard captured automatically Where you spend the most time facilitating or organizing content How AI could make your sessions more effective without getting in the wayIf you're interested in sharing feedback or participating in early research, we'd love to hear from you. Your input will help shape the future of Zoom Whiteboard!Book a session

I am using the Linux Zoom client for taking a Vietnamese language class. I run Ubuntu 24.04 with X11. With xim or fcitx, and unikey or bamboo, the whiteboard is unusable. Whenever I hit the space bar, the cursor moves (xim) or vanishes (fcitx). The web client works fine. Should I give up on the native client, or is there a way to report this issue and get it fixed?

This is more of a feature request or conversation, but I welcome other thoughts about this. I know what I’m asking for can be worked around (hence the “workaround” section below) so I’m not looking for suggestions as to alternative ways to do this. ----Context: Running a collaborative workshop.Use case: Putting activity frameworks and other read-only assets on a locked layer and using a separate layer for collaboration so that participants can’t move objects that should be fixed.Request: When focusing on a layer, do not change the opacity of the non-focused layers. Non-focused layers currently change opacity so they’re barely legible and not usable for a workshop. I understand your rationale for wanting to make them more opaque, so perhaps an opacity toggle would address both needs.Workaround: Without this ability, I have to lock every object I don’t want people to edit. This is doable but tedious, especially if I want to edit those items myself.

I use Zoom to connect with long distant grandchildren.  We also like to play games using the game room concept of several sites such as,  https://buddyboardgames.com/ and https://playingcards.io/ .  We play these games in a separate window while in our Zoom session.  I believe the structure is similar to Kooht, which Zoom has recently added as an extension but I have not personally tried it.  I use the whiteboard to do joint drawing with one my grandsons.  We can also play games like  Tic Tac Toe and hangman.  Incorporating some of the game rooms we currently use in separate windows into Zoom would make it even better.  While Zoom is focused on supporting organizations, it is also great for staying connected with grandkids and other long distant friends and  family members.
