Whiteboard

I am using the Linux Zoom client for taking a Vietnamese language class. I run Ubuntu 24.04 with X11. With xim or fcitx, and unikey or bamboo, the whiteboard is unusable. Whenever I hit the space bar, the cursor moves (xim) or vanishes (fcitx). The web client works fine. Should I give up on the native client, or is there a way to report this issue and get it fixed?

This is more of a feature request or conversation, but I welcome other thoughts about this. I know what I’m asking for can be worked around (hence the “workaround” section below) so I’m not looking for suggestions as to alternative ways to do this. ----Context: Running a collaborative workshop.Use case: Putting activity frameworks and other read-only assets on a locked layer and using a separate layer for collaboration so that participants can’t move objects that should be fixed.Request: When focusing on a layer, do not change the opacity of the non-focused layers. Non-focused layers currently change opacity so they’re barely legible and not usable for a workshop. I understand your rationale for wanting to make them more opaque, so perhaps an opacity toggle would address both needs.Workaround: Without this ability, I have to lock every object I don’t want people to edit. This is doable but tedious, especially if I want to edit those items myself.

I use Zoom to connect with long distant grandchildren.  We also like to play games using the game room concept of several sites such as,  https://buddyboardgames.com/ and https://playingcards.io/ .  We play these games in a separate window while in our Zoom session.  I believe the structure is similar to Kooht, which Zoom has recently added as an extension but I have not personally tried it.  I use the whiteboard to do joint drawing with one my grandsons.  We can also play games like  Tic Tac Toe and hangman.  Incorporating some of the game rooms we currently use in separate windows into Zoom would make it even better.  While Zoom is focused on supporting organizations, it is also great for staying connected with grandkids and other long distant friends and  family members.&nbsp

If you use a separate mind map tool, what do you use it for that whiteboards don’t do well? Everytime our team uses Zoom whiteboard the post its disappear when you hit the space bar, back space or shift. It happens to users as well as the creators. People with Zoom accounts and without. Everyone. It’s happened now in 3 different classes, rendering the white board useless. We can’t write text or post its they all disappear when creating any space between words on the post its. I’m using the most recent update of Zoom. Others are probably various but it was happening to everyone. Please help,

I am subscribed to Zoom and have the package allowing me to use up to 3 whiteboards. This has been working really well ever since I started using it, over a year ago, including pasting images (using Ctrl + V) and inserting images and documents of multiple pages. Today I allowed the Zoom update, and I can no longer paste or upload anything. I get a note saying "Exceeded capacity" and the image disappears/does not remain when I next open the whiteboard, nor can members on my call see the images. What has happened? Obviously, I deleted lots from my whiteboards to hopefully allow for more space, but alas, it continues to tell me that I have "Exceeded capacity". Help. 

I have only 1 whiteboard showing in my whiteboard tab, the trash is empty as well. So I am definitely not beyond the 3 editable whiteboard limit. Still the whiteboard won't load beyond 50%. I have been trying for a week. Weirdly enough, even when I am not the host and someone else is sharing a whiteboard with me, it still won't load. Not even read-only whiteboards.

Hi there,Does anyone know if it's possible to create cell borders / internal borders around the rows and columns, on your table? The only border option I can find is to create a border on the whole thing.  It seems to defeat the purpose of having a table to some degree,  if you can't see the cells visually,  Let me know if anyone has tips!  

When I create a new whiteboard the icon for uploading documents is missing. 

I am not able to open full MS Word file in Zoom App . Only first page is dispalyed while uploading the file so what can be the reason for this ?

Hi there, I have just downloaded Zoom app on my mobile, an iphone 6 with iOS 15.8.6.  (I can't do any further ios updates, they no longer allow it for iphone 6.)The behaviour of the drawing tool seems strange, and I'm wondering if that's normal or a fault with my phone situation. Anything you draw, only lasts for about 3 seconds and then fades to nothing. Below is an image of a shape I drew, I screen shotted it but it had already started to fade out as you can see, And under that is an image showing which tool I had selected. Is there someone with experience using Whiteboard on iphone, who can shed some light? CheersThis is the tool I selected, the squiggly line -  for drawing? I have a whiteboard that was saved earlier and I’m wondering if there’s a way to upload or re-import it into Zoom Whiteboard so I can continue editing or sharing it.Has anyone tried this or found a workaround? It would be really great to be able to search for projects. I have al lot of projects and is really a pain that I have every time to go through them all to find the one I am looking for.I would also love to have pressure sensitivity while drawing something.The Ipad UI for whiteboards is now messed up. The drawing space on IPads is now smaller, it has become way to small because of the new layout.Please change that.

After searching diligently thru prior conversations for annotation controls, I've run across things like this: In the navigation panel, click Account Management then Account Settings.Click the Meeting tab.Under In Meeting (Basic), verify that Annotation is enabled.I have no idea what the navigation panel is (there's nothing labelled as such), and I'm unable to find anything called "account management", "account settings", a "meeting" tab, or an "in meeting (basic)" item. I can locate "Settings" under the "Zoom Workplace" menu, but nothing in the resultant window refers to any of the above, let alone annotation controls. I don't want my users scribbling all over my screen during my presentation, but I can't find any way to turn off that ability. I'm running Zoom on Windows 8.1  daily for several years without almost any issue and I've just updated Zoom to version 5.16.1. This version redesigned the annotation tool bar. It's great you can place it vertical but now I have a problem: I can't change the size of the text as I used to do it in the previous versions. Is this problem a bug in the new version or there is a way to do it that I don't know?  Please help me solve this issue.

Hello everyone!The first time I used Zoom and Workspace in my Laptop (in 2023), the Zoom software was downloaded and installed by a literate-Linux system friend. However, once I updated the Zoom version (2024) and my aforementioned friend and to downloaded and installed the updated version, my Zoom Workplace was no longer ready to use it. For that reason and since then, I have to join my Zoom account through the Zoom Web interface.The worst part of it is that: the Zoom always asks me to join my Zoom meetings through my Zoom Workplace and sometimes it simply does not allow me to join any Zoom meetings. It is really bothering. I am about to cancel my Zoom account.Do you have any suggesting I could do before I proceed to cancel my Zoom account? Thanks.

When tring to adjust uploaded voiceover for 6 slides, I see only 4 after choosing adjustment option. Have sombody similar problem?

Hi everyone! I would like to use a Wacom drawing board (or any other one, I don't care which one) for the whiteboard feature during a zoom call. I DON'T want to share my scree, but really use the built-in whiteboard for video calls. Does this work with a drawing tablet? And if so, do you have a recommendation? Thanks for your help!Nina
