Zoom Freezing When Loading Attendees in Scheduler (Google Integration)
When scheduling a meeting in the Zoom Workplace desktop app (v6.6.2), the attendee search field gets stuck loading and then turns into a blank white box. The app does not technically go into “Not Responding,” but it becomes unusable and requires ending the task through Task Manager.
This seems to happens when the app tries to pull contact suggestions from the user’s Google integration. Typing certain letters (like C) eventually returns results after about 10 seconds of loading, while others (like J) trigger the freeze.
The Zoom web portal does not experience the freeze but also doesn’t provide any attendee auto-suggestions — it requires typing full email addresses manually. Meetings created this way sync correctly back to the desktop app.
Environment
Windows 11
Zoom Workplace version 6.6.2
Signed in with a personal Gmail account
Google Calendar and Contacts integration enabled
Troubleshooting Performed
Updated Zoom to the latest version
- Verified latest Windows updates
Reinstalled Zoom multiple times
Deleted AppData → Local and AppData → Roaming Zoom folders, restarted, and reinstalled
Disabled & enabled + reconnected Google integration under the Account Management and User profile.
Removed all permissions from both Google and Zoom, then reauthorized with full Contacts and Calendar access
Issue confirmed to occur only in the desktop app
Behavior Summary
Typing “C” → results appear after ~10 seconds
Typing “J” → app freezes, attendee box turns white, requires end task via Task Manager
Web portal → no auto-suggestions, but functions normally
Manually entered emails work fine
Meetings created on the web sync correctly to the desktop app
Current Workaround
We’ve set the user up to use the Zoom web portal for scheduling meetings and manually entering attendee emails (it is not auto-populating) until the issue is resolved.
Request
We’d like to confirm if others are experiencing similar issues with Google integration on personal Gmail accounts in Zoom v6.6.2, or if this is a known bug currently being reviewed by Zoom.
