Whiteboard Voting

I'm using Zoom Workplace provided via my academic institution licence. I want to use the whiteboard voting feature during a workshop that will be attended by mostly external participants that are unlikely to have Zoom accounts. In my trials it seems that it is not possible to participate in a vote unless the person signs in. I want to keep the process as simple as possible as many of my participants are older. Is this a limitation of using the Whiteboards or am I missing something in the settings that I can change to allow everyone to vote?

I know i can use polls, but the vote function in the whiteboard better suits my needs.

The current voting design allows anyone who can edit the whiteboard to vote. If you're not logged in, you can still vote on the shared whiteboard during the meeting.
