how to acquire Zoom phone Number? do i need to buy a phone number license or do we need additional cost to acquire phone number, for example i want to call US

Hi Dennis,
Welcome to Zoom. Please go through this article. Depending on your country and your usage of Zoom phone, you will need to procure licenses.
https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360034342152-Requesting-Native-Zoom-Phone-numbers
Most licenses come with a Zoom phone number included so once you get a license ( metered, unlimited or Global select depending on your requirement), You can request a Zoom native phone number:
https://zoom.us/pricing/zoom-phone
Now, once you have a phone number acquired, You can assign it to a user on Zoom after provisioning Zoom phone, and enable International calling to make calls to US in your specific example:

thanks for the reply, our zoom phone plan is pay as you go, and the scenario is aim currently in KSA and i want to call outside do i need to pay zoom or to our telecom provider

Hello Dennis,
if you are planning to keep existing numbers with your current telecom provider, zoom offers Bring your carrier service, which is a longer route, that you will need to initiate via a zoom support ticket.
if you are planning to buy numbers from zoom or port your numbers from your existing provider to zoom, that’s called native zoom phone setup and I described how to procure such numbers. In this case you will not need to pay your current provider.

Acquiring a Zoom phone number is actually quite easy. You don't need to buy a separate license or pay extra costs to get a phone number. To get a Zoom phone number, you'll need to have a Zoom Phone license. Once you have the license, you can then assign a phone number to your account. If you're looking for a local phone number for the US, you might want to check out https://www.mightycall.com/local-phone-numbers/. They offer local phone numbers that you can use with Zoom Phone or other VoIP services. It's a great way to establish a local presence without having to set up physical offices.

I would just clarify what MarelyHerman said by stating that each Zoom Phone Unlimited or Metered license includes a phone number. If a business needs additional phone numbers for Auto Receptionists, Call Queues etc there is a ala carte phone number license for those purposes but is a seperate license.

Hey Jeff. We have the Zoom Phone US & Canada Unlimited Calling plan. We have 2 users and we're sharing a ported phone number. I toggled on SMS in our account settings but it's saying "you don't have a direct number". When I go to the user settings and click "assign number" there aren't any available. Is there a way to assign our ported number, or do I need to add a new one? If I need to add a new one, how do I find out if there's a cost to do so? Thanks!

I’m having the same issue. Were you able to figure this out? Support told me to add more users but I’m the only user. I don’t want a whole other workplace+phone plan.

Here is our support link on adding additional numbers to your Zoom Phone account. https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0060070
Once on the add screen you should also see it lists how many toll and toll free numbers are still available for your account. If it shows zero then you would need to obtain additional phone numbers licensing which can be purchased as an add on to Zoom Phone plans.

Thanks! Ours shows that we have 2 "toll" numbers available and 0 toll free. However, is it possible to set up SMS with the ported phone number that all of our users are already using?

SMS is available to each Zoom Phone user using the phone number associated with their Zoom Phone user/extension. If the ported number is used by an Auto Reception/Call Queue/Shared Line then Zoom Phone users cannot use that number for SMS unless using the add on power pack license which allows SMS capabilities for call queues/ARs etc. Keep in mind that SMS requires applying for approval via a 10DLC campaign which is a recently imposed requirement from the major wireless carriers to prevent SMS spam messaging. Here is our link to SMS related support articles.

JeffatZoom,
If you port in a number and have three users with just extensions and do not plan to use SMS, do you still have an auto attendant feature to route the incoming call? Also, what if two users with extensions only try to make outbound calls at the same time, will one get blocked? (assuming the $15 unlimited US/CA Plan)
