I've tried to contact Zoom sales, support, and chat but I have not been able to get an answer.
I'm one of the thousands affected by Skype discontinuing, so I am looking for alternative phone platforms. I see Zoom added phones in 2019, so potentially a good option since it seems to function just like Skype (your own phone number, cellular data or wifi calling, make or receive calls). I like Zoom as a platform and use it regularly for video conferencing.
I've had a Zoom Pro account since 2016 and, therefore, have legacy pricing of $99.90 per year. I don't want to lose that because Zoom conferencing is vital to my work. It might be nice to have phone and video conferencing bundled together.
First question: Can I port my Skype number to Zoom? (lots of places say they will accept ported numbers, but the fine print says they won't accept Skype numbers. I have not found one yet that accepts Skype numbers)
Second, and more important, question: If I go with a Zoom bundle of Pro/Phone, will I lose my legacy pricing?

hi HRDProf,
Please confirm this information with Sales. Please see https://zoom.us/pricing
My example uses United States pricing.
For Zoom Workplace Pro users that want to add Zoom Phone, I believe that going with the Pro Plus offering makes sense. Pro Plus adds Zoom Phone to Zoom Workplace Pro.
Current Zoom Workplace Pro is USD $159.96 (USD $13.33 * 12) annually. Zoom Phone Unlimited US and Canada is USD $180.00 (USD $15 * 12) annually; total for two separate plans is USD $339.96.
Pricing for Pro Plus for 1-99 users is USD $18.32/month/user, billed annually at USD $219.84.
Zoom Pro Plus pricing shows a savings of USD $120.12 annually over cost of individual plans.
i do not have a Skype number to check as to portability. please see Microsoft support article "How do i port my Skype Number to another company?" https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/skype/how-do-i-port-my-skype-number-to-another-company-b1462f77-...

Hi Eliot,
Not quite. My Zoom Workplace Pro plan is frozen at $99.90 because I accepted the offer to buy into Zoom as an early adopter in exchange for legacy pricing that would not go up. My concern is that if I switch to a bundle, I will lose my legacy pricing and not only will my cost for Zoom immediately go up to the current rate but I will not be able to get my legacy price back should I decide the bundle is not for me.
The links you provided for porting Skype actually discuss that Skype numbers can't be ported to most providers. They do not indicate who would take the Skype number, though. Several VOIP providers I reached out to said that they did not take Skype numbers but they would accept traditional mobile phone numbers.
I think my answer is that it is just not safe for me to tamper with my Zoom subscription! I'll look elsewhere for telephony options.
Thanks!
