I need to forward incoming calls to former employee (so, a vacant extension number) to another extension. If the extension is not tied to a user account in Zoom Phone, is there a way that incoming callers can be directed to another extension, or a way to keep the extension active once the user profile is deleted?
Another option is to have them press zero to get to an operator, but I'm not seeing that as an option in the IVR.

Hello,
For the deleted user ( and their extension ), you can create a new Autoreceptionist (AR) with the same extension. Let's say the deleted extension is 8000. The AR Could be configured to route to the another extension say 8001.
Second part of your question, Same way you can configure an AR to forward to an operator. Options are 0-9, # and *.
Here is how to configure an AR: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360021121312

@sachinzoom If I could flip Jule's question to the context of DID - is there any way to forward all incoming calls that arrive at 10DLC which is NOT associated with anyone to another external 10DLC?

Hi Boyan,
Yes you can do this by creating an Auto Receptionist (AR), assign it to a 10 digit number say 4081112222.
You can forward this AR to the external 10 Digit number.
