I’ve noticed that if we are updating a Zoom meeting request, Zoom automatically reverts to its initial default setting, regardless of the information we had previously included in that meeting request. it gives a pop-up that says "the event description will be replaced with the zoom default invitation. Your previous event description will be copied to the clipboard"

Hi, @Leero,
Just to confirm, this is NOT on the Zoom.US web page, but on an something like an Outlook Invitation using the Zoom add-in, correct?
I have the Zoom Outlook add-in, and when creating a Appointment or (Outlook) Meeting, it leaves the text I've already typed in the meeting description area, and appends the Zoom invitation text below.
Even when editing an existing Outlook Appointment or Meeting, I don't see this behavior.
Can you provide some specific info on what steps you are using? Some screen shots (with personal info, email addresses, etc. redacted) would be helpful.
I've seen this situation mentioned a number of times... but I've never been able to get enough details to replicate it - so I can help. 🙂

Did I miss something along the way? What is the fix for this?

I'm also wondering if this problem has been fixed? I didn't experience this issue in the past with Zoom and Outlook, but it started this year and has persisted. It's problematic to create meetings with agendas or other pertinent information, as that information gets lost the moment you have to resave the meeting - even if it's not rescheduled, if you add another attendee, I get that error message. It's super inconvenient and frustrating.

Hi! With the help of my IT department, we followed the directions available in this separate post (https://community.zoom.com/t5/Zoom-Meetings/The-Event-Description-will-be-Replaced-with-the-Zoom-Def... to uninstall the Zoom Outlook plugin and clear the program files so my Outlook plugin is working correctly again. Fingers crossed this works for you too!

Hi! I'm also interested in the solution for this as I encountered the "Zoom Outlook Plugin" error and am now unable to update an existing Outlook meeting with Zoom link. Instead, when I try to update the existing Outlook calendar meeting all recipients receive the invite (without any content updates). It's embarrassing to say the least, not to mention that the recipients don't have access to the updated information and instead have an extra email notification from me (further cluttering their inbox). And yes, I use the Zoom Outlook Invitation using the Zoom add-in.
I never encountered this issue before and I update my existing Outlook meeting invites regularly. I also restarted my computer in hopes that this would remedy the issue but it still persists.
