participant recording

I was a participant (free member) on another member's meeting (paid member). the hot granted me permission to record the meeting. I chose the option to record to my device since im a free member. Near the end of the meeting, i got off the zoom a few minutes before the host did. However, the host said that as soon as i got off the zoom meeting, that her (paid member host) recording stopped recording. Is that whats supposed to happen? Just because I stop recording or leave the zoom meeting, then the host, who is also recording, will have their recording stopped automatically??

hi @clster

from what i read, the host and or participants (if permitted by the host) can record meetings.

The issue is, while we both were recording.... What happened is, I got off the meeting first and ended my recording. The host was still on the meeting recording. But her recording abriptoy stopped, on its own, after I left and ended my own recording. So is this what happens when you allow a participant to record? Is it where, when that participant leaves before you (the host), will your recording stop abruptly? I couldn't find this answer anywhere so I'm asking here. To reiterate, I'm not asking if a participant can record a meeting. I already have that answer. Hth
