green annotation pencil button in the way

I type live captions for Deaf and HOH students. I use a laptop, so my screen is rather small. The green annotation pencil button is in the way of where I type, but I've looked everywhere and can't find a way to get rid of it. Annotation is not enabled for participants and it may not show on the students' screens, but it's really getting in my way. Does anyone know how I can get the button to go away?

I second this as it also gets in the way for full screen terminal shares.  Is there no way to move or disable it?
