On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Hi @kk67 ! This is the "annotation" feature. To get it removed from the lower-left corner while you're screen sharing, you can disable the annotation feature from your web portal settings. This will remove it from all meetings that you host.

To disable the Annotation feature for meetings you host:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Settings. (Tip: You can click the hyperlink in this step to go directly to your personal web portal settings to enable/disable features).
  3. Click the Meeting tab.
  4. Under In Meeting (Basic), click the Annotation toggle to enable or disable it. If the toggle is grayed out, it is locked at the account or group level and would need to be changed at either of those levels by an account admin.
Note: You may have to sign out of the desktop/mobile app and then sign back in for this setting to take effect.

For further details about this feature in case you ever want to use it in the future:
