Zoom background always blurred

I am using Samsung/Android and just today noticed I can't remove the blur from my Zoom background.  I have tested on different Zoom accounts and the "blur" is on all of them.    It is not quite as blurred as the "Blur" option in the "Background & Effects" but clearly out of focus even thoughts I tap "none" .

This seriously affects my work so would urgently need help.
Has anyone seen this behavior or know how to correct it?

I have the same issue with my Samsung Phone.  I managed to turn it off on my PC but the option isn't on my phone.   Its a dropdown on the bottom that has the pic of the camera "Start Video", where you turn it on or off in the meeting.  That drop down list has a selection that says Blur My Background (different to Choose Virtual Background).  That turned the issue off on the PC, but the dropdown doesn't appear on my phone.  I thought if I changed it on my PC it would flow through to my phone, being the same account, but no.

Ive solved it.  I have a samsung phone.  When I was in the meeting, the video icon came up at the very top of my screen of my phone, I swiped down and a menu came up (I assume a phone based menu, not zoom based) I then was able to select - remove or no blur, (cant remember). OMG this has taken forever to work out.  Yell out if you need help.

This worked before and i have the issue again, and its not working on either phone(android) or laptop - zoom HELP 911

I have the same issue with zoom app background blurr on my samsung/android. Four weeks before I swiched it on tiny video camera icon  appearded on top of the screen. And now want to swich it off I do not see that video ikon.

Recomendation to tap [more ... ] then [backgrounds and effect] tried, there is no such option in the zoom app on my phone.

(only on laptop, but changing in the laptop did not helped too).

Who could help on  this?

Hello @As94,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.

It's possible that the blur background option is natively enabled on your Android device.

  1. Open Settings: Navigate to your phone's settings app.
  2. Access Accessibility: Find and tap on the "Accessibility" option within the settings menu.
  3. Choose Visibility Enhancements: Look for "Visibility enhancements" or a similar term within the accessibility settings.
  4. Reduce Transparency and Blur: Locate the option to "Reduce transparency and blur" or similar wording.
  5. Enable the Option: Toggle the switch or checkbox to enable/disable the feature.

Let us know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

Have you heard of Zoom AI Companion?

Thank you, Mark, for your answer.

In my case that was four weeks ago, I saw a tiny video camera icon (zoom meeting on app in my phone samsung/android), and I switched on the meeting background blur. And next week and till now I cannot find that tiny icon again.

I tried:

1. Recommendation to tap [more ... ] then [backgrounds and effects], there is no such option in the Zoom app on my phone. (only on laptop, but changing in the laptop did not help to change on the phone).

2. to search for that tiny video camera icon - didn't work.

3. to go to zoom meeting and tap "APPS" then "Virtual backgrounds" - not working

4. and lastly, your advice:  settings of Visibility enhancements. It changes the phone background blur, not the Zoom meeting.

Phone restarted and kept switchedoff several times during this period. I emptied the phone storage. Tried to remove the Zoom app and install it anew several times. Did not work.

What else could you recommend?

Thank you!

How do I restore the "None" virtual background option, during Zoom meetings on my Chromebook? It's okay on my android phone, and allows me to use both Zoom provided virtual background options plus my own manually added images (on both devices) but has stopped allowing me to have NO virtual background --- for approximately a week now --- on my Chtomebook (???).
