This is a new error It used to work up until about a week ago.

Hello @pauldmooney,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.

Please update your Zoom app to version 6.4.0 or higher. This will resolve the issue and enable the option to sync the buttons on your AirPod Pros.

Apple hardware is very picky about what will properly work. Try the following including resetting the airpods. https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0058146

Thanks for the reply. I HardReset the AirPods Pro, I even formatted my Mac and reinstalled the OS and reinstalled Zoom. Must be a resent update to AirPods or Zoom that stopped it from working.

I have the same issue since updating to MacOS 15.3.1. Zoom Workplace may have updated in that time as well. Version: 6.3.11 (50104). So I can't say which is the culprit.

Did the hard reset work?

I am on MacOS Zoom Version: 6.3.11 (50104) I will check for updates.

This still does not work in July 2025... I am unable to mute/unmute myself using Airpods Pro 4, on Zoom v6.5.3 (58803) and Macos 15.5 (24F74). Other sources of info: https://community.zoom.com/t5/Zoom-Meetings/Zoom-Error-Message-quot-Cannot-Control-Mic-With-AirPods-... and https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255199120?sortBy=rank

It stopped working for me out of nowhere. I went to this settings screen to verify if Sync buttons on AirPods was checked, and it was. I toggled it off then back on, it works for me now.

Hi @guy208, this is a strange phenomenon. Have you encountered this issue again — where toggling the setting off and on made the feature work? Could you also let us know your Zoom client version and the model of your AirPods?

Thanks!

One more data point for you guys.  I have both Airpods Pro 2 and Airpods Pro 3.  With the "Automatically Sync Headset Buttons" and "Sync buttons on Airpods" turned on, my Airpods Pro 2 can mute/unmute Zoom but the Airpods Pro 3 get the "Cannot Control Mic With AirPods Pro" popup.  I'm on Zoom Version: 6.6.2 (65462) on MacOS 26.0.1

Hi @rajis , AirPods Pro 3/4 are not supported yet because when we launched this feature, these models had not been released. Our engineers are working on supporting all AirPods.

Thanks @KaneZhu .  Do you have an ETA for when this feature will be added for Airpods Pro 3?

Hi @rajis, we will support AirPods Pro 3 in the 6.6.10 version.

Hi @KaneZhu, just updated to 6.6.10 and can confirm that AirPods Pro 3 can mute/unmute Zoom.  Thanks

I have the same issue running Zoom v 6.6.0 with AirPods Pro 3 under macOS 26.0. I've verified that the "Automatically sync headset buttons" and the "Sync buttons on AirPods" settings are both enabled.

it used to work fine. Today, clicking on my airpods opened Apple Music, despite the fact that the 'sync airpod button' is on.

Any suggestions?
