Video in Zoom app not working

My video is not working on the zoom application, I am on a lenovo yoga running windows 11 with the latest zoom workplace application downloaded. My windows 11 os is up to date and my drivers are up to date. The Zoom application does have access to video in my privacy selection. My camera is working, I am able to use my camera with google meets and with zoom via my chrome browser. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the application and I receive the same result. I also receive a message that pops up and says " Virtual Background is Still Loading, Start Video Anyway?" This message also pops up after I have removed the background, which is a an image, to not having an image at all. Not sure what else to do here.

Hey nms1! try these two solutions I hope it helps, start by resetting the virtual background settings. Open Zoom, go to Settings > Background & Effects, and select "None" to ensure no background or blur is enabled. Restart Zoom afterward to see if this resolves the video issue. If not, check the hardware acceleration settings by going to Settings > Video > Advanced and disabling hardware acceleration for video processing, receiving, and sending.

Hello I tried to following instructions and neither worked, what else could it possibly be?

I am having the exact same problem with my lenovo yoga 7.  Started about a week or so ago.  Any updates?

The only thing that has worked so far is that I have to uninstall and reinstall the application each time. I have not found a specific long term solution.

Funny that has been my solution too which isn't sustainable.  My camera works fine via the browser and via Teams or other video meeting apps.  We need a solution or we move to another product.

me too.  started a week or so again.  For me it's only when other apps open which I know is not a fix but is better than nothing.

I have the exact same problem. I have a Lenovo Yoga and I have been using Zoom Workplace for years and starting about 2 or 3 weeks ago the camera quit working. I hired a remote technician (because Zoom has no support unless I upgrade my license which I don't need) and we spent 6 hours reloading drivers, making sure all updates were installed, installing and re-installing zoom, reinstalling camera drivers, etc., and it just doesn't work. The camera works fine in the camera app and it works fine with Microsoft Teams but I won't work in Zoom Workplace. Zoom made a change of some sort that caused this to not work. The only way I can use zoom now with the camera is to open it in a browser window which is slightly tricky because it wants to start Zoom Workplace but if you click no a few times to it doing that you can eventually get it to open in a browser and the camera does work while using Zoom from the browser.

Zoom: can you respond to all these problems? Is there a fix coming?

I have this problem too that started very recently with Lenovo Yoga laptop.  For me it seems only to be a problem when certain other apps are open, such as Edge or Chrome.  My video randomly freezes and then goes black (or if I open Zoom when Edge or Chrome are open starts off black).  When I close the other apps and restart my video it comes back.  Zoom support have no idea.  They are blaming a hardware issue but Microsoft Teams works fine.  I've tried everything and they have fobbed me off.  Lenovo got me to do a full Windows reinstall but that did nothing.  Can anyone help?

I had to do the same thing and it did work, however, this is not a long term solution when we are giving software demos and presentations to clients. @zoom please advise and check the thread

Just chiming in here. For about the last month or so, Zoom Workplace keeps freezing and crashing. I've tried turning the video off and/or removing the virtual background, and it still freezes and crashes. I've closed other apps and it still freezes and crashes. I've checked my bandwidth and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I'm on a ThinkPad X1 running Windows 11. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Zoom Workplace and that has not helped either.

You might want to try Lenovo's troubleshooting instructions at:

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-710-11isk/solution...

If you still can not resolve the issue send me a private message here in the forum using the message icon in the upper right below my account.

The main help in the troubleshooting is to close other applications (which in my case works) but that means not being able to share presentations from Google or web pages which is core to my work.  Any other ideas?  My camera works in Zoom and then when certain apps or web  pages are open freezes and goes black.  Lenovo and Zoom being no help sadly.  Many thanks

Sarah, I've tried that too. CCleaner allows me to put some applications to sleep. So far, however, it hasn't helped; my Zoom still freezes and crashes. I can't put everything else to sleep because I'm usually working with Acrobat and PowerPoint during my meetings. I'm pretty sure it's not a camera issue per se.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm pretty sure it's not the laptop -- all the drivers are up to date and other video conferencing platforms (e.g., Teams) work just fine. What I'm gathering from some of the other posts is that perhaps this is a bug with Zoom Workplace? I've been using Zoom extensively since 2020 and have not had any issues until recently.

Hello community members,

I'm sorry for the late response and inconvenience.

You can check out this article on how to troubleshoot video issues on Lenovo for Windows 7 to 10. If you are using Windows 11, go to Start > Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera, then make sure the toggle next to "Camera access" is set to off.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.
