Using Translation Captions

I am curious about the use of translation captions in the following two scenarios:

  1. If I am not the host but just a participant, and the host has not enabled translation captions, if I purchase a translation feature, will it translate into the language I have set?
  2. I am the host for a one-on-one interview on Zoom with someone who speaks a different language. I've added a translation program, and I'm wondering if the setup is such that only I can see the translation captions, and not the other person. I have set manual captions to 'off' and automaed captions to 'on'. With these settings, will the translation captions only be visible to me?

1. No. The host must enable the translation function.

2.If the host activates the translation function, the other party can also use the translation.
