Participants changing name in Waiting room

Does the account setting "Allow participants to rename themselves" also stop people renaming while in the waiting room, or does it only affect one participants enter the meeting itself?

While we in the past have disabled it within the meeting, we are now finding people changing it while in the waiting room

Hi there,

Currently there is no way for a participant to rename themselves while in the waiting room. It is likely that they are being prompted with an option to edit their in-meeting name before joining the meeting, or they join the meeting/waiting room with one name then leave and change that name before re-joining the meeting/waiting room.
