My name appears incorrectly in Zoom meetings

Hello,

I'm experiencing a recurring issue with my Zoom display name.

In my Zoom profile, my full name is correctly set to damien( ...Full first name and name). However, every time I join a meeting, my display name shows up as "damie".

I’ve already tried the following:

Verified that my Zoom profile (on the web) shows the correct full name.

Checked the settings in the Zoom desktop app.

Despite this, Zoom continues to display "damie" by default when I join new meetings.

I'm using a free Zoom account, so I don't have access to direct support.

Does anyone know how I can fix this so that my correct full name appears automatically in all meetings?

Try to Clear the Saved Display Name on Zoom App

Sometimes, Zoom remembers the last name used and reuses it.

• Open the Zoom desktop app.

• Log out, then log in again with your Zoom credentials.

• Go to Settings (gear icon) > Profile > Click your name > make sure the name is correct.

You can login via web browser and > Go to My Account > Click Edit beside your name and change you Display Name.

Hope this helps.  

Also try to update the app and see if it fixes.

Hi @Damien31 I have two suggestions:

1. Did you register for an event? If you registered for an event and attend the event the name you registered with will will override your profile.

2. Are you logged in to the same account for both the Zoom client and Zoom web portal?

Hi @Damien31 can you go to the Zoom test meeting at https://zoom.us/test and see if you name is displayed correct there?

I'm just trying to narrow down the issue.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I went to the Zoom test meeting at https://zoom.us/test, and I saw that my name was still incorrectly displayed as "damie".
I changed it to the correcté name and checked the option "Remember my name for future meetings" (or something similar).

So now I'll have to wait for my next real Zoom meeting to be 100% sure, but I think this might have solved the issue.
