Microsoft Intune - The selected app does not have a valid latest package version.

Felt like someone from Zoom Workplace should know their Microsoft Store App has an error and can't install with Intune currently due to: "The selected app does not have a valid latest package version. "

It's using the old W32 format and needs updated to the new UWP format to install for windows 24H2 Intune++.

Would be good if Zoom could update the installer package to the new format.

Replying to this because it would be so much easier to manage than repacking a msi into an Intune file for updates. Make zoom UWP

Even graph API does not work for this zoom package they have uploaded to the store.

This is still broken, would be really nice if someone from zoom could fix this.

Our company is thinking switch completely to teams because this 'issue' and so many users report app require update and stuff, and cyber sec director is jumping around all the time about 'zoom need update'.....

We just used our endpoint manager software to deploy it, it checks daily for an update, if an update exists, it pushes it to the client systems.  It would be nice to do it thru intune, but Intune is just slow.

give action1 a shot. Free for up to 200 systems.

Thx but we have 2300 endpoints enrolled right now, still enrolling and will be around 3000 at the end of project. Also getting funds for additional software/service will require paperwork and justification and ....... forget it.

Not every organization has the funding to support an endpoint manager software but I'm glad to hear you found a way around the issue, although the issue remains for the rest of us.

I agree its been over a year on this issue, zoom doesn't seem to have any interest in fixing it. I know not everyone can "Afford" a endpoint management solution, that why i recommended Action1, a SOC certified provider that's free to 200 or less endpoints.

If you're managing more than 200 endpoints and you don't have a deployment solution or ITSM / End point manager, you need to look into what resources you're wasting because it can be a massive cost saver not to mention legal and security aspects.

I know Datto / Kesaya looks good - personally I dislike them but use google. Datto has been trash to us. Best for Over 200 clients with cost being a priority over usability.

Manage Engine advertises a lot but in actuality their big and the rollouts are SLOW, even slower to deploy packages. Good if your paid by the hour. the EDR is a joke, dont even try.

Atera - Good but Based in AU.

NinjaOne - Not bad if you have the $$ - Covers most the bases and was out #2. Over 200 Clients this is problably your best best for QOL, things work.

Action1 Is great for smaller environments, includes way more than most RDM/ITSM/EPM choose your acronym. SOC 2 - If you don't use custom filters system info is a bit lacking. AGAIN GREAT FOR SMALL under 200 clients.

Have you heard of Zoom AI Companion?

That is not relevant to the situation.

the msi and gpo are not the install method. It is the intune app for installing that is not updated.

can we work around a issue sure, we have established that, but if zoom would fix their app format there wouldn’t be a issue for everyone to work around.

I can't believe it's been a year since this was originally called out.  I created an account just to gripe about it.  Fix it or de-list it from the Microsoft Store.  I spent too much time troubleshooting it, thinking I was the one who had done something wrong.
