Looking for suggestions on how to solve mixed meetings so everyone can hear the questions

I have a mixed in person and online zoom meeting. When someone who is there in person asks a question - the people in the zoom portion complain that they cannot hear the question.

How are people solving this issue?

I\m using my laptop so the mic is facing me as I face the pc and the folks in the room are behind the laptop so the mic does not pick up what they are saying.

Is there a simple solution to this short of my repeating the question?

Thank you very much for your reply.

This sounds like an expensive solution.

LEt me look into the cost involved in such a setup.

This commonly involves a sound mixer device that provides a mic or mics to the in-person attendees, and one mic for you. It could be a mic on a stand that they can walk up to, or one or more around the conference table. The the mixer also connects to your computer as the audio device into Zoom.

There is a cost to this type of solution, along with a learning curve or hiring an audio consultant for local guidance.
