We saved a recorded meeting of 1.5 hrs locally, and resulting video file is 4 hrs, and audio is delayed and waaay too slow. What happened and can the files be fixed? Thanks!

Hello @PatS,
Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.
This can be an issue with the codec of the media player you are using. Can you try using VLC or Quicktime to play the recording? Let me know if this helps.

Hi, I tried playing with Quicktime and the video recording is still 4 hrs long, too slow, and the audio is delayed and too slow. Can the recording file be re-converted or fixed somehow?
Thanks,
Pat

I'm sorry to hear that. For further assistance, kindly submit a ticket for a recording check performed by technical support on the backend.

I have exactly the same problem. A 75 minute meeting is 4.5 hours both mp4 and m4a files. Has nothing to do with the program playing it back, as even File Explorer shows the wrong length. Seems like a bug. Have raised a ticket, but don't know if my recording can be corrected. Needs fixing soon.

@Mark thanks for your reply! Good to know there is someone else. If it is possible to add to your ticket, would you kindly provide the number? otherwise I will enter a ticket for the same thing.
Thanks,
Pat

In my ticket I stated that at least one other had the same problem, and pointed to this thread. The ticket is currently being reviewed. Not sure I want to share ticket number in an open forum.

In the meantime the ticket is being looked at. I have also uploaded the recording. After a few suggestions, I am now getting the answer that Zoom can see in their backend a high CPU usage on the computer on which I was recording. I had no other programs open (apart from virusscanners etc.). Does not seem a satisfactory answer. Have asked if recording in the cloud rather than the local device might make a difference.

join the club! I record my podcast on zoom and the last 4-5 episodes have my guest in perfect video and audio, while my own speech is so delayed I sound like a zombie. I tried every single possible trick on Imovie, Quick time, Garage band and its impossible topped up my audio! I am incredibly frustrated and I wish I could help!
