The option for Host Tools (formerly called Security) does not appear in the Floating Meeting Controls when sharing screen during a meeting. Is there any way to add it there?
I need to turn on/off the Waiting Room on the fly and can't find an easy way to do this. Please can someone help?

The waiting room can be managed in 2 places when screen sharing.
1. Host tools - which can be accessed when screen sharing by clicking "show meeting > "host tools"
2. Click on participants to show the participant list, then click "..." for the menu, then click "enable waiting room"

Thanks, storyhub! I was unaware of the option to go through the Participants list. It's rather convoluted, but will suffice as a workaround (both options are disruptive to the info being shared on screen, but using the Participants list is a little better).
I wish Host Tools just appeared in the Floating Meeting Controls (like it does at the bottom before you share screen). Interestingly, it CAN appear there, but only if I have 2 monitors and have checked the "Use dual monitors" option in Settings. Unfortunately, I normally only have 1 monitor.

Did you know that you can reorganize the buttons on the meeting menu bar using drag and drop?
this will not appear in the floating bar because the share HID the meeting window. Click show meeting button on the floating bar to display the meeting window which has the Host tools button in its menu. On this window you can drag and drop buttons to reorganize them.

It seems like the Host Tools option has been moved or hidden in the new interface. To manage the Waiting Room while sharing your screen, you may need to access the settings via the main Zoom interface rather than through the floating controls.
Try these steps:
- Open the "Participants" panel.
- Click on "More" at the bottom of the participants list.
- You should find the option to "Enable/Disable Waiting Room" there.
If you still can't see it, check if your Zoom version is up to date and look for any meeting-specific settings in the Zoom web portal.

Managing the Waiting Room is all very well - but the emergency option "Suspend participant activities" is also missing.
The "panic" button for unwanted interruptions (zoom bombing). VERY rarely needed, but so useful to know it's there. I have been in only one meeting when it was needed - but it was vital. Thinks "emergency exits" in physical venues.
Why would Host tools be left off when we have the More button

An apology and a correction (and as @storyhub pointed out earlier) ...
To get the "normal" Zoom menu back while screen sharing ...
- click on "Show meeting" button
Then you have access to the "host tools" button (and the emergency option "Suspend participant activities" that I was looking for).
Also you will see two new buttons at the top of your screen allowing you to switch between "Meeting" and "My screen" - very useful 🙂
Finally, thanks again to @storyhub for the tip that when displaying the "normal" zoom menu at the bottom of the screen - "you can drag and drop buttons to reorganize them".
