Cannot delete virtual background (have already deleted and installed Zoom, deleted the Cache, etc)

Hi,

I have spent 60 minutes trying to have no virtual background. With the help of ChatGPT, I have already deleted and installed Zoom, deleted the Cache on my Mac, etc.

The background apparently is saved somewhere online..

Would you have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Hello @ValGermany,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.

If you're using macOS, it's possible that the background was uploaded directly to your computer instead of through Zoom. Once the meeting starts, a green video icon will appear in the top-right corner of your Mac's menu bar. Click the icon and uncheck 'Background' to remove the virtual background.

Let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

Worked!  The green box with a camera icon was not at the top right of the Mac menu bar--it was on the left of the items in the menu bar, but it worked well once I found it!   Thank you very much.
