Hi everyone,
I’m using Zoom on a Mac and had previously uploaded a custom background image. I’ve deleted the image, tried resetting my settings, uninstalled Zoom (even using Terminal and deleting library files), and reinstalled everything fresh. But the background still appears in every meeting — even though it shows as “None.” It’s like the image is permanently stuck and now labeled as “None.” Has anyone experienced this? Any tips to fully wipe the background from my account or force Zoom to refresh the virtual backgrounds?
Thanks in advance!
Sandra B1.

Hello @SandraB1,
Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.
It's possible that the background was uploaded directly to your computer instead of through Zoom.
Once the meeting starts, a green video icon will appear in the top-right corner of your Mac's menu bar. Click the icon and uncheck 'Background' to remove the virtual background.
Let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance.
