Hi @tldwt, welcome to the Zoom community! Can you try un-installing and re-installing Zoom and let me know if that resolves the issue?

un-installing complete and again try to install, but still this error  code 10082

Despite a number of queries with the same issue, no-one seems to be able to resolve this. Yes, I've tried uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling and I get the same error, same as the other people who've asked.  How can I resolve this, please?

If you're going to ask someone to let you know if the issue is resolved - Especially as an employee of the product - f** answer when there's a reply. Microsoft's Learn is not the platform to emulate.

Did you ever get an answer? We are having this issue again today.

Nope - nothing so far (surprise!), we can't even install it now. We use it on the web instead.

Wow that is since April!  I have a ticket open and will share if there is a fix. We can't just use the web version, isn't it limited to what you can do, like record?

Fortunately for us we don't need the extras, we just do straightforward meetings with the occasional screen share. We'd be in big trouble if we needed anything else, going by Zoom's interest so far. Thanks for the offer to share when (if) there's a fix, it's appreciated

Same problem,  has anyone found a fix?

We installed the msi version and it worked. You scroll down at the bottom of the Zoom  downloads page, you will see the Admin link to download the msi. Haven't tested if the program then updates automatically after the install yet.

What we know::::

EXE installs to the users app data folder

MSI installs to the program files folder

AppData\Roaming is limited by Microsoft and preventing the Zoom install.

Since version 6.20, Zoom can no longer be installed with the standard installer or updated via app. We are stuck at version 6.12. We use redirected folders and AppData\Roaming is also redirected. The installation routine must have changed. Since the error occurs immediately, we suspect that the query of %appdata% is probably not accepted. For us, %appdata% refers to the server UNC path. The installation via MSI in Program Files still works. The automatic update then of course no longer works.

Yes this is exactly our issue. It was great when users could do the frequent zoom updates themselves. We pushed out the msi install to all users 6.2.0. So now when updates are released, we need to push out the new version each time. Our intaller.txt file showed it didn't like the \\ as the path and fails. Our ticket with Zoom said it is a Microsoft issue with permissions to the roaming profile folder being restricted. They did provide a link to the MS Support article

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-r...

The answer from Support doesn't make sense. Zoom 6.1.X can still be installed without any problems. As you have already written, the installer asks for %appdata% and the UNC path is obviously not accepted. And of course the access rights are not a problem either. I will report our results to support and get back to you when I have received an answer.

Hi TeeBee2,

I have great news. I had a meeting with Zoom support today to show them the bug and the update surprisingly worked ;-D That means the problem has been fixed with the new version 6.2.10. Last week the installation and update with the previous version 6.2.7 still failed. Zoom can now be installed again in redirected AppData\Roaming.
