I used to love the meeting summaries. As a paid member, I introduced multiple companies to and suggested zoom as our video conferencing app, almost entirely for the AI's video recordings and meeting summaries.
What I loved about the summaries:
1. Easy to read and understand
2. Easy to edit (by browser) and share (by email)
Now they seem:
1. Incredibly difficult to edit (by browser) or share
2. Difficult to understand
I'm a tech savvy guy. Anyone on this forum is. But what I liked about the old version was that it was easy for our non-tech savvy coworkers and clients to understand as well. Now the editor has tons of links and icons, and the share button only sends viewers to a link so they can log in to zoom docs. Once a client or coworker sees that they need to login, they balk and ask me to send them a .doc or pdf or email. And then, good luck trying to figure out how to export the summary from zoom docs.
I get it. The "ensh*ttifcation" of all digital software that Corey Doctorow of the EFF talks about has finally come to zoom. The constant need to add features that lock in users or create new signups, or at least let the various login platforms track us and serve more ads and create profiles on us has cause a great platform to degenerate. Sigh...
I need only TWO things:
1. Easy to view and share meeting recordings
2. Easy to edit, new, and share meeting summaries.
THAT'S IT. Without it - I have to find a new platform, and tell others to as well. I am and was a super spreader, Zoom Evangelist. Please don't make me have to apologize, uninstall, and turn all the people I referred to zoom away? I know there's must still be good people at Zoom who put their users first. You couldn't have gotten this far without them. Listen to them. Please.
