My AI companion wouldn't start, can it AI the recording?

Hi I was in a board meeting and the secretary was ill, so I thought "no problem, I'll use AI companion to do minutes " then the darn thing wouldn't start!!  So anyway I recorded it but now I still have to go through the whole thing and make minutes.  
1.  I've no idea why it wouldn't start - has anyone else had that problem?
2. Can I get it to do the recording after the event?
