Why is Zoom now enabling AI Companion without user permission???? This is an invasion of privacy and should be illegal. Some people do not want text recordings of meeting summaries, and now you are just creating them without permission. This should be an "opt-in," NOT a DEFAULT setting.

Zoom has introduced AI Companion features to assist users with tasks like meeting summaries, chat composition, and more. However, these features are controlled by account owners and administrators, not automatically enabled for everyone. When AI Companion features are activated in a meeting, participants are notified—Zoom provides on-screen notices when AI features such as meeting summaries or smart recordings are being used.
If you’re seeing AI Companion enabled without your explicit action, it likely means your organization’s Zoom administrator has turned it on at the account or group level. Individual users can usually adjust or disable certain AI Companion settings (depending on admin permissions) by going to Settings → AI Companion in the Zoom web portal.
Zoom has stated that AI Companion does not use audio, video, chat, or other content for training their models unless the account owner chooses to share data for that purpose.
