Hi Zoom Friends,

 

I’m the founder of a nonprofit and use our Zoom Pro account to set up all of our meetings. I've enabled the feature to automatically generate an AI-powered Summary Page after each meeting. However, I’ve noticed that it doesn’t consistently create these summaries, and I’d like to understand why.

 

Here are the specifics of my experience:

 

1. Automatic Summary Generation: The automatic AI summary is enabled, but it doesn’t always produce a summary after meetings. It works for some but not for others, and I’m not sure what might be causing this inconsistency.

 

2. AI Companion Icon Variability: During meetings, I can see the sparkle AI companion icon with a dropdown menu in my Zoom window. Sometimes, this dropdown includes an option to "Start Summary," but other times, this option isn’t available. I’m wondering if there’s something specific that determines whether the “Start Summary” option shows up or not.

 

Is anyone else experiencing similar issues? Any insights into why the AI summaries are generated inconsistently or why the “Start Summary” option sometimes appears and sometimes doesn’t? Another possibility are the meeting summaries being stored in two different places?

Does it make a difference whether the host is present during the meeting or not?

Same here. I'm the host and have received Meeting Summary for Monday's meeting but not for Tuesday's.

I’ve figured out a workaround—though it’s not ideal. When setting up a meeting, Zoom gives two link options: one linked to my personal ID (associated with my nonprofit), which is selected by default, and another that generates a meeting ID automatically. If I select the “Generate Meeting ID Automatically” option, the AI summary is automatically generated. Let me know if this helps or if you’ve found other solutions!

This is bothering me too. I receive some meeting summaries but not others. I cannot figure out why this happens. I am usually the only person sharing screens in the meeting. I hope someone from Zoom can explain it soon.

I have this issue too. JUST happened. I MADE SURE that the option for meeting summary was turned on. The little AI sparkle was blinking. When my meeting was over, I clicked into my meeting and selected get notes and it ONLY had the title of the meeting, summary and next steps were blank.

I notice that I don't receive Summaries for recurring meetings that I created before I changed my settings to always provide them. I have the video, though, and I would like to know if I can upload it into my AI platform for a summary, as I don't see that Zoom has that option after the fact.
